I never liked the Broadsider, and i never will (not my kind of weapon) but with this retexture looks good enough to place it as centerpiece in my dinner table.
Great job - but still by far the most stupid & unrealistic gun in the game. It should have a team of brahmin and crew of 12 men. I recall back in the 1980s taking part in English Civil War re-enactments on a team for a smaller gun - maybe a foot longer but prob under half the calibre (I forget now, maybe a 6-pounder). Even in a field or meadow it often took 3 or 4 of us just to pull it about despite it's wheeled carriage (and on slightly uneven or stony ground it took more, in spells). And fake ammo, wadding, powder charges & water all weighed a freaking ton too. Our amatuer rate of fire was probably no better than 2 minutes (after spending ages setting up a firm position, readying & aiming). When not pulling that lump around I was usually a wormer (one of the key dogsbody jobs). All in hot wool clothes and thick leathers on warm summer weekends - most tiring. Real ale was the only thing that helped... [More seriously, we had heat exhaustion & dehydration problems aplenty].
Have to agree, need a 2k version... I tried to do it for myself and I cant read the normal maps they show as blank in my DDS reader. For people not running the game on an SSD it takes 4-5 seconds to load which can mean death in combat.
Its so fantastic it needs a 2k version for decent load times so its useable :P
