Just discovered this mod. For being such an old mod, it still works great.

To the author's family, thank your for continuing to share your grandfather's legacy with the community.

Yeah, the original author passed away years back. You can find more in the bio.

*** Caution when using this mod - Significant lag on my 3090 system. ***

TLDR: This mod causes significant lag when looking up or down. Narrowed it down to this mod. Once removed, game runs perfectly fast/smooth.

I have this mod as part of a mod pack. My fresh, new game install (rolled back to the previous version of the game) was lagging pretty bad after installing the mod packs along with multiple other mods. After process of elimination and removing all mods that could be causing the lag, I noticed I was getting the worst lag when looking up at the sky or down at the ground. I'm talking 5-10 FPS on a 3090. Since I was only lagging when looking up/down, I remembered there was a "Sun" mod in the mod pack along with a cloud mod. So after already turning the graphics down to the lowest, and disabling every other graphic/texture/lighting mod, the only thing that was left was sun and clouds in the sky.

As soon as I disabled this sun mod (after spending hours changing settings, .ini's disable/enable other mods), that removed every bit of my lag. I was able to re-add all of my other texture/graphic/lighting mods, and now run 80-100+ FPS with being back on Ultra settings and zero issues. Not sure if there was another mod this one could have been interacting with to cause this, but this mod is causing significant lag on my system. A new sun isn't really needed for me, so no loss to my mod list.

Just posting this in case anyone else experiences lag that should not be in their game. Try disabling this first instead of the hours of troubleshooting I went through to do this last.

The mod is not working correctly! There are now two suns in the game!
The new sun is above the vanilla one, it looks terrible.

The sun from this mod sits just above the vanilla sun making it awkward to look at.

Is this true? I need to check this. I like the less bloomy style of this mod. I understand the thoughts for the original sun beth put in, which was make a more mad max, washed out, nuclear holocost feel by forcing the sun to be more washed out and bloomy. But, with enbs, reshade, and NAC, it does more harm than good by forcing a style sun versus simulated it with proper graphic shaders. This helped with that, so, if this is true about the texture overlaps, I'll be sad.
