It is unfortunate this mod removes the light from the bots as well. However, as much as I like having sentry bot companions emitting the redlight of death at my enemies and being intimidating as hell. I really can't stand having a redlight coming from my character's feet the whole time when they are supposed to be a stealth character. The light was there when I sneaked with my character and glowing at the bottom of my screen. How can you have a sneaky character walking around with red glowing feet? (don't know or care if it doesn't actually affect sneak.)
I guess on the plus side this also fixes the issue of the blocky sentry bot light bug, which would crash my framerate. Disabling the bot in question and re-enabling them would fix that, but it wouldn't do anything about the red glowing feet on my character. I wouldn't even care if it only affected my settlers, but it was on me and not them.
I still wonder what the hell caused the issue in the first place. Never had it happen on a character until this recent one. I don't even have the unique NPC mod you mentioned in the description.
Not sure how, but for some reason my character was running around with a red footlight every time I went into 3rd person. This took care of that. not sure how, but it's gone now and I'm happy.
ladies and gentlemen, i humbly present to you: the cure for red sentry feet! the scourge of the commonwealth, a fate worse than mole rat disease! that's right, good people, red sentry feet, a chronic condition which somehow started afflicting my character sometime during the cr-74l and ellen's affinity quests, maybe when i was set on fire by 4 raider vehicles at once, who can say? hell, who knows which specific mole rat bit me in vault 81 and forced me into the difficult moral dilemma of having to console command an extra cure into my pocket?
in any case, goodbye, SentryBotFaceLight, you will not be missed...well, except maybe a little bit on actual sentry bots.
short form: thanks for this one, it was driving me up the wall.
Thanks fixing this one and posting it here! Also, thanks for mentioning the vault 81 Mole Rat disease as well as I will search the for the ID for the cure now!
Been driven crazy trying to figure this out as it's on my PC even when nothing is equipped. It vanishes only through entering/exiting power armor then appears again as soon as a weapon is equipped. This also seemed to happen for me near the end of the cr-74l quest. Will give this mod a shot and if that fails I guess it's removing cr-74l :( .
Unique NPC's is such a great mod and that bug getting triggered is the annoyance we just "play through" so to keep it in the load order. Your solution is a very creative way to solve that annoying issue. Its certainly better to just not have a few lights on robots.

fixing the bug is difficult without having the bug in the game. But you can send me screenshots then I'll take a look.
