This will be a must use on my next Fallout 4 play.
BTW, is it possible to delay the Automatron autostart too? I don't know how it is handled, if the quest starts once you stumble upon the dead caravan or the caravan is placed only if you hear the radio signal.
I've done all of those, it's just getting things packaged for the Nexus. Another circumstance of Bethesda force-feeding us quests. Two of my characters don't work with the Brotherhood, and so doing "Fire Support" makes no sense whatsoever. One issue though, is that no matter what, if yo approach Cambridge Police Station, the quest starts. But editing the quest so it's not automatically triggered by the radio, that was pretty simple to do.
The Vault-Tec quest was just a matter of editing it so it only triggers if you go into the Vault 88 area. So no radio message at all.
Automatron, I've edited it so you have to listen to the Caravan message first before it will start.
Again, it's just a matter of getting things packed up nice & neat for the Nexus, something I've been meaning to do. Guess if people really want these, it's best I get off my arse and do it.
Our main character wants nothing to do with The Minutemen... and miraculously, we have avoided triggering the start of "When Freedom Calls" by staying away from Concord. Is there any way you can keep Codsworth's suggestion to go to Concord from appearing in the quest data log? Or possibly keep "When Freedom Calls" from initializing when you get too close to The Museum of Freedom?
Admittedly, we completed those mentioned quests with the console, but some people might want to enter the museum and get the bobblehead without having to deal with Preston. Just a thought.
Either way, we're glad to hear that someone is taking action against the whole Bethesda forced quest scenario... we've hated that tendency of theirs since playing Skyrim. Don't get us wrong- we LOVE Bethesda games... but we HATE forced questlines!
Nice. Looking forward to it, if you decide to do a complete package.
And as dallesse says, we hate forced questlines. I have refrained from activate Vault-Tec DLC because my current character, a BoS hard-ass Sentinel, can't be bothered to play overseer for Vault-Tec leftovers. And because of this, I'm locked from all settlement blueprints and other mods that uses Vault-Tec DLC assets.
Just added this mod and your Vault 88 mods to my load order for my next game. Thank you! Understand the problem with the Brotherhood quest. Still, that beats the automatic trigger by the radio.
Thankfully, Dallesse, Depravity makes Codsworth's suggestion and the side commentary thereof make a bit more sense. The Fallon's crew thumping Codsworth when he got a bit whingey frankly suits their personalities, except for Alerios and he just joined up recently. All you have to do is avoid the Museum of Freedom by a certain distance so Preston's call for help and the quest don't trigger.
Firstly a big thank you too steamcanuck for these aggravating Bethesda forced quest solutions! One other that totally miffs me is the Special DeliveryCabot quest. No matter you make it clear too Edward Deegan that you're not interested, Bethesda still forces the quest ...... The sod waits at 3 locations for the PC, its not always possible to avoid him completely
Not sure how no one have noticed, but I believe the most irritating forced quest is the Road to Freedom (finding railroad). And the spot where it's forced on you are either the two blokes talking next to Valentine's place or the protectron that pops out of it's pod in Boston Commons when you get near it.
Is there any chance you'd be willing to do this for the Creation Club stuff? I recently decided to get a handful of the new dogs and I got bombarded with a separate identically named quest for each one I installed as soon as I left the vault x.x
I don't have any of the Creation Club stuff, and honestly, I don't plan on purchasing any of it. Nothing appeals to me, or stuff that does, there's a free alternative that's either just as good, or better. Apologies.
No problem, tbh after the handful of CC stuff I got, I can't help but feel cheated. Only things that I feel were worth the money were Elianora's stuff.

Many props to steamcanuck for this mod!

Preferably as an ESL, but definitely as a FOMOD if it has to resort to an ESP.
If Cutting Room Floor is ever done for Fallout 4, I suspect they'll want to incorporate your work.

Surely Bethesda has to know by now that it isn't THEIR game that we enjoy playing, right? Lol.
Yeah, god forbid one entire quest show up and ruin the immaculate feng-shui of the vanilla game's ridiculous number of throwaway radiant quests.
And the ideias you have for the others quests are nice too.
