The point of the super slow reload is to simulate loading each shell individually. Yes, it's annoying, but that's why it was intended. Proper anims literally didn't exist at the time shotguns were implemented, so we used the Pipe Bolt-Action anim and slowed it down to about the amount of time it'd take to load a full mag tube.
And if you hate the slow reload on the Mossberg 500? You should completely avoid the Striker. It will drive you insane with how slow the Striker reloads. ;)
Yeah, this mod was mainly for myself anyway and it just looked so bad to me(not just cuz it's slow but cuz there's no animation). For Striker, I haven't used that weapon yet, but I'll fix that too. Also for MF 3.0, they should fix UZI reflex sight (red dot bad aim) and some weapons' hand position. Steyr AUG has pretty bad hand position. I cant fix those cuz i dunno how to use nifskope.
I wonder if the animations from the Remington 870 mod - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20797? - could be transferred to Modern Firearms. I have no experience with animating so I don't know. Probably needs some work.
Thanks a bunch! I never even bother using the Mossberg because of this very issue. I don't agree with the balance argument as there is nothing balancing about having one or two weapons take an inordinate amount of time to reload compared to everything else. There could be a realism argument, but given the scope of this "realism" I don't care for the mechanic in that light either. Anyway thanks!
Where do I find MF 2.5 or 3.0? also I can no longer find Modern Sidearms on Bethesda. net?
The only version I found on Bethesda doesn't have any shotguns in it. Kind of annoying to update coz I edit all the spawn chance values to make guns less common and ammo FAR less common. MF adds the weapon spawns to every weapon list, even overwriting Melee Only lists to add guns to them.. and to me that is just overkill, I like to have melee only enemies in the game
I guess that is why its better to make patches lol. I can do that easy enough now though, by copying the edited entries into a new esp.

It was made like that because they don't have the proper animations for it but they say they are working on it. Of course if you can find and put in some nice shotgun animations for this thing then we don't have to wait for them to fix it.
