Good idea, but poor execution. The mod only works 50% of the time. I found a similar mod that's more reliable: Infinite Combat - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/52475
Tried using this in VR, I have a million mods installed and this is the main one that kept causing all sorts of bugs. After getting killed by any random enemy NPC's would lose their voices and I'd have to reboot the entire game. It also wasn't actually replacing any settlers, despite that option being turned on. Awesome idea, though. Just wish it wasn't as buggy.
I had similar issue in VR. Each time I died and reloaded save or respawned, enemy gunshots and voices would be muffled. Rebooting game fixed it, but loading times are not ideal for that.
This is great, but for some reason in vr when I respawn it adds around 60 lbs of carry weight. I tried twice to remove every item, so it's not some randomly added item. Maybe an unlisted item was added? It seems to persist between saves too, have to restart the game to remove it. Anyway, seemed to be the best and only chance of having a respawn mechanic in vr.
This mod works, but barely. It's highly unstable, but it is very fun when it functions properly.
One thing I've found is that it needs to be disabled when starting a new character, and then reenabled later. You will experience an infinite loading screen otherwise.
I don't know/can't tell what this mod needs to be fixed. I want it to be fixed though. I would love to play with a stable version of Death Matters very much. I love this mod and it compliments Fallsouls - Unpaused Game Menus perfectly., but it's really great for any kind of playthrough. This mod is great for keeping death interesting.
Install at your own risk.if you dont like it after all its impossible to get rid of it.uninstall doesn't work, your are stuck with the buggy animation.i was lucky to have back up saves a few hours earlier
Based on preliminary testing, this mod is working (mostly) as described. I don't know what the deal is with everyone else, but it appears that many people have some kind of mod or other conflicts.
I'm able to die and respawn, replacing a settler, in the Death Matters preset. The only three things I noticed are: 1. My companions were not dismissed, but I suspect this has to do with me having a multiple companions mod. 2. Settlers remain hostile if you died fighting one of them, so there is a chance you will be shot at immediately upon respawning. 3. The player replaces a settler only in the sense that the settler is disabled and the player gets moved to that settlement and given a completely random set of clothes and a weapon. In other words, the player does not become the settler. With LooksMenu though, you can just load a new preset to roleplay being a different person (who did not get mini-nuked trying to charge a raider encampment with a switchblade).
would want to put a warning to everyone that if you install this and want to uninstall this, be warn if you want to play the same save, I till be very buggy and broke even if you play survival. you would want to start a new save or go back to where you install this.
Would've been perfect if the mod didn't fully heal/remove rads/heal limbs on respawn. The way it works right now makes it basically a free doctor visit.
