One way I have seen that mod authors address that damage based on level issue is to make a damage multiplier based on a weapon modification.
For example there is a mod you can create for the weapon at the weapon workbench that will add 20% damage. You need to be at level 20 to make it. Then there is another mod that adds 40% damage with a level 25 requirement, etc. I found this to be a fantastic idea and really helps keep the weapon usable as you level up.
If you are feeling ambitious there was a Heavy Incinerator weapon that fired globs of burning matter long distances, instead of a stream. I can't remember if it was NV or FO3 though, but that was such a blast to use. It may not be possible with FO4's engine as I have never seen anyone make this weapon yet. Yes, and this weapon has mods too to increase the damage. But in new Vegas the Cleansing Flame has a burning effect that would get stronger the higher your Energy Weapons Skill is. Skills are gone in Fallout 4 so I tried to create a burning effect similarly to New Vegas but link it to strength instead since heavy weapons are under it. Unfortunately it seems the magic effects can not receive commands the same way in Fallout 4 and instead of scaling with strength the weapon would just show the whole bulk of stats immediately. So I could not recreate the effect.
Not so much I’m afraid. The model was a bit harder to work around. Not too much space to fit anything spectacular. There is a few extra tubes here and there as well as an extra fuel tank at the back and the standard nozzle is a triple nozzle instead of just single.
No, the way my weapons are built they will not be affected by mods that add to the original flamer. This is to minimize conflicts but also means those kind of mods need a patch.
This is amazing! I can’t believe these aren’t getting attention just because of F4NV or just because people have never played new vegas or don’t know what it is! Never stop modding, Captain-Ultima! BTW, if any of you people haven’t played the game, go play it now! It’s a great game! Lots of mods for New Vegas, also.
