Before appreciating this mod, we should review the weight of the objects, which in Fallout 4 is truly excessive. A 44 magnum revolver that weighs like a real rifle, a carton of cigarettes that weighs as if it were made of lead, the missile launcher that weighs about half quintal? You would be surprised to discover that the RPG 32 actually weighs a fifth of the missile launcher in Fallout 4. I'll stop here, but the list is really long....
In case you still aren't aware, there is this mod called Realistic Weight made by RahliaLeBOSS that does that. Ive been using this mod for a while now.
Any recommendations for a carrying capacity bonus from a standard sized backpack? I was thinking somewhere between 20lbs-40lbs? Using a modular backpack mod and don't want to break the immersion that this mod has already provided.
Nice mod, exactly what I was looking for. I'm gonna necro this just cause... Lots of ignorant statements made concerning what weight a person can/does/should/would/could carry. Like the veteran before me mentioned, we don't carry 100 lbs of gear for very long and especially not into "battle". People saying they can carry 100 lbs IRL... yea, ok, now try to run, jump, shoot, etc. for hours everyday... just an ignorant statement. When was the last time anyone who doesn't ruck march, hike or camp carry (and not lift or throw) more than 30 lbs for longer than, let's say 3+ hours? Get outta here with the bs. Again, nice mod. Kudos! I paired this with a realistic weight mod but that mod didn't redo armor weights.
Way too small, a max of 65 is actually very UNrealistic. Soldiers who go into battle are often carrying around 100 lbs of stuff in total, and while your average soldier is very physically fit they often aren't body builders. If we're going to say the average soldier is around 5-6 strength in Fallout terms then someone who is 10 strength should be able to carry closer to 200.
Also, in order for it to work I think you'd have to go in and adjust the weight of almost every single item in the game. If we take it as 1wg=1lb (20lb dumbbell = 20wg) then the .44 magnum should be 2.5lb. A S&W 629 is 41.5oz, or 2.6lb, and it has a slightly heavier barrel profile. In the game the .44 weighs 4.2wg. Reba-II weighs 15.5wg, in real life a naked Remington 700 in wood will weigh about 9lbs and a scope is about a pound or so. Reba-II should be 10wg. The Deliverer in game is about 4wg without the suppressor, in real life the Walther PPK is less than 1.5lbs.
But as a "hording" game Fallout kind of necessitates the ridiculous carry weight, otherwise you would be carrying around weapons, sufficient ammo, water, some food, some stimpaks, and would have little to no room left for actual scavenging.
Being a combat veteran... No we don't carry around 100 lbs of gear into battle. We MIGHT hike briefly from one point to another with a large amount of gear, but we would drop packs and anything else if we were ambushed somehow. Stay your lane civilian.
err... a lot of toxic wierdos in the comments, I agree with the comment below its actually pretty funny. Just want to say thanks for making an actual realistic weight mod! A lot of them just bump the weight down to like 100, but I refuse to believe that my character want to have back issues five years down the line. Quick question though, is there any way to put it back to 5lbs strength bonus?
The level of triggering on here is hilarious. This is pretty close to realistic. Tell me a soldier carrying 200 pounds is going to engage in combat, running around, hand to hand as well. And then we have the problem of size proportion. Who's throwing a desk fan, fire extinguisher, 35 tin cans, and a thousand rounds of large caliber rounds in their pack as well, multiple weapons, and the rest of the aid items. We have to find a happy medium for the sake of the game. Too bad Bethedsa made a game that requires the looting of every object you see so you can build a steel fortress out of tin cans
LOL, you must be a feeble person if all you can carry is 30 kilo's. Especially after working out for a while, i bench pressed 240lbs 30x when i was a young guy and walked/jogged for 6 miles easily with 100lbs on my back without a rest.
Yes, you have a high strength, and as said, this is for running all day, plus you probably had a backpack and stuff to help with the weight, rather than it all being in a pip boy which is probably like holding in your arms.
Pretty good mod. I hate how when I play fallout 4 survival mode I have WAY too much carry space. I’m planning to pair this with Backpacks of the Commonwealth.

I travel light. I could honestly barely carry [ 6 kilo / 15 lbs ]
so I feel bad for my character carrying around 40x desk fans
tbh... thank you either way <3
