Still towards the beginning and using a bit of a messy mod-list (still taking things out and putting more in) But one of the first things i noticed when swapping in BLD (thanks to this patch) for realistic damage in my Horizon play-through was that the radroaches in the starting area take massive chunks out of my hp, I was nearly dead by the time i got to the vault door and anyone who knows how horizons damage work knows those roaches usually tickle the player since healing is such an expensive thing to do.
I'm just wondering if this is intentional based on this mods changes to the combat system (taking huge damage even from the weakest enemies in the game) or because of a load order mistake/conflict. on my end.
Either way really love the work you have done with this mod, very lucky to have community members like you who are dedicated to stepping in where others won't/don't/can't.
I'll admit, those roaches in Vault 111 are quite the challenge. That element is thanks to BLD's health and damage ratings added with the changes Horizon makes to the vault itself. It is a pain just to get out of the vault, especially since the 10mm is now a 9mm, all the ammo there is 10mm, oh.. and yeah, Horizon moved the gun all the way to the end at the base of the elevator anyway! LOL.. On the flip side; the Sole Survivor has no armor and only a baton against a vault full of oversized man-eating roaches.. in real life, one can imagine the challenge that would prove to be.. and so that's kind of the goal with this mod; to have more of a realistic and challenging combat experience from start to finish. I hope that clears things up, and thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement! Feel free to comment with anything regarding this mod anytime ;) - I hope you enjoy!
Hello, I would like to launch a modded gameplay focusing on an hard and "realistic"/immersive gameplay. First time trying to mod Fallout 4 so I was looking into Horizon, as well as Better Locational Damage, MAIM and PANPC.
Are these four compatible in this order ? Will it ruin one another in-game ?
I found this patch but it is for previous version of Horizon so I don't know what to think about it. I read the few latest comments on that, they were questions so does anyone bear witness ?
Thank you.. I'm glad you are enjoying the patch. I do plan for updates in the future.. I've been playing a lot of Warzone lately, but I always finsd my way back to Bethesda, so no worries. ;)
So I really like how the Horizon mod balances everything. And at the same time I really like the hardcore aspect that B.L.D. offers. Using only the Horizon mod is not hard enough for me. I really like it when enemies take only 4-5 shots to die and headshots one shot. But not only for enemies but for the player also. Horizon has harder difficulty modes which makes enemies kill me really quick what I like. Unfortunatelyyyy the damage the player does is the same as the normal Horizon difficulty. So enemies kill me in 4 hits but I have to use many to kill them. This is just no way to play. But the B.L.D. mod counters this so the player also does alot of damage.
So the thing is that using your patch, the mods work together well only the damage the player does is like Horizon. Not B.L.D. (which I want). That's why at the moment I'm using Horizon (with harder difficulty addon) together with B.L.D.WITHOUT using your patch (B.L.D. loaded before horizon in load order). It works only they conflict each other with loot and stuff.
So to make a long story short, is it possible to make a patch where the game uses player damage values from B.L.D instead of Horizon? I saw you have an optional patch where the vanilla damage values are using B.L.D. Only this one is really old and I'm not sure if this Is what I mean.
I feel you.. I do plan on updating that optional.. In fact I'm thinking of redoing the mod using that as deault intead. Not sure yet.. When I get some extra free time I'll be working on it. Apologies for the trouble.

*DLC Add-on is in Optionals* ;)
*1.2a is an update for the latest versions of Horizon and BLD(1.7.6 and 6.1.4 respectively)*

Asking cuz one of them is significantly bigger than the other.
I hope you keep updating with future Horizon version.
