Problem with canteen was reported before, although I never really observed it myself. As for another issue it may be due to some sort of incompatibility. This mod is pretty old and obviously abandoned before it was even finished. Sorry for the inconvenience. Feel free to not use it. Regards.
Thanks for sharing the mod. It's always seemed weird to me that there's so many random cans of purified prewar water lying around, which I've always suspected might be something else. (I suppose that could be a good start for an April Fools or Halloween [Trick or Treat] mod, you drink "Purified Water" and have a random chance to have ingested something else, for good or ill...) Anyway, I tested the mod and also had the same issue with being unable to pick up the flask outside of the Vault, but I crafted one at the chemistry station and was able to fill and use it correctly.
Maybe if you bolded the text where it says that you need to craft a new empty bottle or use the settlement produced water it would make it clearer that people can't just fill random empty beer/etc bottles with water at pumps?
The flask ain't seem to be working at all: you can't pick up the one that's near Vault 111 and even the one that you can craft doesn't work. Also, after installing this mod I can't fill any of my empty bottles no matter where I try it.
This seems like a good idea. I am new to the 'survivor' experience, and while I am enjoying the challenge and different gameplay, I keep 'losing' my bottle stash and having to find more. Locate my kidnapped son? Nah, I'm too busy looking for bottles...
Even mods like 'Give Me That Bottle' don't prevent the loss of bottles to cooking, so this one might just save my sole survivor from a future of clanking around in the wasteland encumbered by glass. Thank you! :)
Edit: I have the same issue as CmputrBlu; the flask at the vault entrance is glued to the floor. Could be a mod conflict - given I am in vanilla no-console use survival mode, I just made the flask and it is working fine. Endorsed!
Question. I can see the flask where its suppose to be when I leave the Vault, but for some weird reason I can not pick it up. Maybe it's a conflict with a mod I have, but in my game the flask appear to be slight inside the ramp that in your image it's lying on. Or am I just dense and that flask is not meant to be picked up and just for show. Thanks
Sound great! I already have Canteens of the Commonwealth but will see if these two can be merged. also am using Horizon so to patch recipies might take a while.
I may be missing something, but the "empty flask" shows up under Misc for me and when i try to "fill" at a water pump, it does the filling sound, but the flask stays empty no matter how long I wait. Am I doing something wrong?
It's a shame though that it doesn't work with hotkeys. I assume when you put it on favorites you have to re-equip it after every use, too? That's at least how it works in the canteens of the commenwealth mod, which is why I am not using it anymore.
And just because, I am one of those "save cheaters" in survival. With over 200 mods installed everything else would be too painful. CTDs happen to often when you destabilize your game like that.
Yeah, it will basically swap an item after each use, so you can't hotkey that. I may make a special item, that will let you drink using hotkey. But so far I don't know how to make it, only that it's definitely possible. I'm not very familiar with papyrus and I found no real documentation for it. As for CTD. Unless you already have them, this wont cause any. It's extremely lightweight and simple with no additional scripts running in a background.
I use unlimited survival and play in survival, but when I am building settlements go to normal. Really takes the pressure off when building settlements so I don't have to a huge supply of food and sleep to save.
I didn't mean that this mod would cause CTD. I was just referring to your description about saves in survival.
I am using mods all from 2015 to 2018, from weapon mods to overhauls to quests, with dozens of scrips, events and mesh changes. You will always have some crashes with such a setup, though I am pretty happy that I experience them not too often.
Take "Place Everywhere" and activate time scale change each time you're building. It will be automatically changed back to normal after you exit workshop menu. You will never have to worry about eating or drinking or sleeping during construction. Nor will you have to ever change the difficulty only for this. I'm not even talking about all those amazing new features you'll get using this mod.
