Having an issue that maybe someone here can help with.
When I change the hair of an NPC it seems all good. I save, save again immediately after just to be safe but then when I close the game and reopen... the hair is back to default. It seems like it won't "stick", which is incredibly frustrating. Not sure what's happening with it, so if anyone has some advice I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you very much for making this mod. I love Piper but the hair has got to change. I have spent hours trying to figure out how to do that without dorking up all the good changes I have made so far. Once I install and see it work, I will definitely come back and donate. cadman013
Update: No joy. Update, 7/2/21: I don't find fault with your mod and as new as I am to modding feel sure I didn't have something right. But anyway, for the benefit of anyone else that may have\had this problem, this is my experience. I attempted to fix NHFY with no success, reading all I could find and triple checking everything. So finally uninstalled NHFY completely and deleting it. Then installed Looks Menu mod. Was intimidated by the menu but figured it out. That worked great. Got exactly the look I was after. Played game a few hours. Today 7/2/21 I uninstalled NHFY. Started and loaded my last save. NPC was bald. Upset to say the least. Got to looking at mods and order, finally noticed Looks Menu was gone. Apparently uninstalling NHFY also removed LM. Reinstalled LM with NMM. Loaded game and last save. Poor thing still bald. Opened Looks menu, and big relief, was able to restore my previous picks of hair and makeup. saved game. Closed it, logged out of Steam. Restarted all of it and got back to last save. Changes to appearance are all still intact. Again, for benefit of anyone reading this, I am fairly sure I installed or was using NHFY wrong. Newbie mistakes.
I have a mod that alters Pipers looks. Hair, face and makeup. If I changer her hair with this mod, when I re-load that save will it remain or revert back to the other mod hairstyle? I've actually never tried to alter them thru the looksmenu. I didnt even know you could do that until reading this mod.
Awesome question! When you load your save it'll revert back to what she had when you created that save. So just save your game, start styling, and if you don't find one you like then reload, but i'm certain you will :)
Your comments are mine also. Didn't know the showlooksmenu command. I installed all 3 mods for KS, then installed NHFY, with it loading last in load order. Made the gun, shot her once and her hair changed. But it did not change any more after 10 shots, and frankly, I see her react with each shot and hope it is not eating away at the affinity I had maxed. Did you get this issue you bring up here fixed? Would you know where I could find info on how to use the showlooksmenu comnand on companions? cadman013 FORGOT TO ASK: What mod are you using to alter Piper's hair, face, makup?
GREAT GREAT GREAT! The idea for a mod is brilliant, but i'm concerned, I "shot" Piper new hairstyle, but when I launched the game next day, Pipers hair was back to default. Don't really know if it is a bug or it supposed to be this way. (BTW Pipers looks is modded)
I'm glad you like it! It sounds like your Piper mod is reloading the original hair that it was made with when you reload the game, which should be a simple load order fix. Be sure to remember that when it comes to load order, the lowest mod in your load list wins. Try placing your modded Piper plugin higher in your load order. Re-run loot and if it doesn't have a problem with the new position relaunch the game. Continue to troubleshoot in this fashion.
Hi there, this is the only hair mod I can get to work and I love its simplicity but hair reverts to standard even though I have it in the bottom of the load order?
Any ideas?
Also like others have said, does not change Curie hair.
I actually found it, you go into the chemistry station and can make the tool there! My biggest issue is that I got this so I could change Curie's hair and it seems to work on everyone but her. Is there a way that you could add her @X157
Apologies for the late reply, I've been away from this game for a while.
Azteck1; You can craft the weapons and consumables in the crafting menu within the chemistry station. This is in the description.
BarkingStingRay; That's an interesting find concerning Curie. Thank you for the feedback. I never actually had her as a companion so she was ultimately untested. It could be due to her being considered a robot by the game and if so, I doubt there would be a workaround.
It doesn't work on Curie? Dang, that was the whole reason I wanted to use this, she's the NPC/companion who needs a different hairstyle the most by far. Her vanilla hair is terrible. But since it wasn't an option, I figured out that whole showlooksmenu console command mess and after trial and error and the advice of multiple guides, it seems she's finally working with the Commonwealth Cuts style of my choice. Hopefully she isn't irreparably broken in ways that haven't become apparent yet, since it sounds like she can really get messed up by using those console tricks to alter her looks. Still, compared to tolerating that short vanilla hair? Worth it.
In any case, she definitely can have her hair changed, and there's no question at all that once she's in that synth body she equips clothing and weapons like any other human character, so I don't know why her hair would be so different from other human companions that this mod won't work on her alone. Best guess is it has something to do with the extra complication of how there's a human/synth and a Mr Handy version of her, though I don't see why that would make altering synth Curie any different from altering the one version of Piper. I'd assume that internally the two Curies are effectively just two different companions, and making her a synth simply changes which version of Curie is your current follower.

Dead / broken mod with unresponsive creator. Avoid at all costs.
