I'm just coming on here to firstly say THANKS! and secondly that the BB Gun has been in all the Fallout games since the first one (minus maybe Tactics and that PS2 crappy console one). A random encounter in FO1 will net you a Red Ryder BB Gun that did crazy critical damage when targeting eyes and had a crazy-low AP cost.
just a tip for fallour 4 and skyrim, hit the ~ key and type "help" then 1 word of the item your looking for, then 4, then a category (like armor, misc, alch, etc. For this case and also as an example, type "help bb 4 weap" or "help gun 4 weap" and then use the page up or down key to go through the list of related items in the consol.
It's actually nearly low damage enough that you can't cause aggro even in stealth mode so I can basically cripple or even kill most (human and ghoul) enemies as long as I don't miss. Just to note, if they can't be aggroed, the Raiders/Gunners don't use stimpaks to heal themselves, so they can die without alerting anyone. Considering that it can be on the legendary list, a regular BB gun with only the basic receiver, with the crippling/wounded/poison effect, but no damage increasing perks, can be just as dangerous as a shotgun/minigun with the explosive effect.
Some things to note with the ammo:
- you gave four options for crafting the ammo for various amounts of steel, yet they all seem to do the same thing, give 1000 ammo. Might be just me though although having all of the options under the same name doesn't help at all.
- a single shot sells for 1 cap. Considering that you get 1000 for a single steel, that's an easy 1000 cap profit. In one game I seriously placed a chemist station right next to my settlement stores and cleaned them out with less than 50 steel. Heck, it's easier with Diamond City and Goodneighbor since they have free chemistry stations and merchants!
So what would i take to make this look/function more like the one for NV? Im learning and in this scene so id be down to help, i see this was updated this year. if it needs reload sounds, BB gun model, fps anim etc, ill pick a focus. message me :)
the firing sounds should be working as I already solved that issue, but there is currently no BB gun reload sound or separate firing sound for VATS yet
still no sound when firing and black barts bane and red ryder arent showing up in their respective locations. could i have the guns ids please? im tired of running around trying to find a bb gun every time i uninstall and reinstall trying to get this to work.
have you searched the raiders for black bart's bane? maybe one of them took it, or it's possible the physics shifted it, and I haven't placed red ryder yet
