About this mod

Turns the game into more of a realistic shooter than a linear rpg. Overhauls enemy health, experience gain, and makes combat more rewarding but deadly.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
First and foremost, this mod is to be used with Modern Firearms and Modern Sidearms!

It was tailored around Modern Firearms's statistics and values, and I can't guarantee a fun experience without it.

What this mod does:

- Balances enemy health to be more realistic and sensible

- Prevents health gained on level up for both you and enemies (Health scaling is disabled)

- Starts you off with 225 base health while every point of endurance increases your health by 5

- Reworks flat damage increase perks

- Increases damage of every melee weapon

- Increases damage of every pistol and sub-machine gun

- Increases experience gained from killing enemies

- Increases experience gained from killing difficult enemies like Deathclaws and Radscorpions

- Replaces the return and refund category in the Modern Firearms vending machine with a caps to pre-war money converter

- Increases headshot damage significantly for most races

Explanation:

Modern Firearms has pretty high damage values. Personally, I enjoy that, but I haven't been able to find the right NPC health mod to accommodate those values. So I decided to go for it and after maybe 10 painstaking hours of tweaking NPC stats I finally edited every NPC in the vanilla game. The goal in mind was to make everything as real as possible while also keeping fun in mind. For example, an average person can maybe take three to four shots to the chest from a 5.56 before dying. So any human you encounter in the commonwealth, will never take too many or too little shots to kill, whether it be a raider, gunner, or even a child of atom.

To give you some perspective, all humans have the same health, but their armor will decide how much they can endure.

Supermutants are naturally more resistant than humans, thus they all have more health. They aren't spongy, but they are tough, and the tougher an enemy is, the more experience you will earn from killing it.

The only enemies which can be spongy are dangerous ones such as deathclaws, yao guais, etc. Typically, the harder it is to kill something, the more experience you will be rewarded for finally killing it.

Now onto perks. Since enemies never scale and their health values never change, there is no need for perks that increase your overall damage. If an enemy is strong, use a higher caliber weapon or switch to armor piercing rounds.

Here are the listed perk changes:

As for the Modern Firearms vending machine, I removed the weapon refund option and replaced it with something much more plausible. A bottlecap converter.

You may now convert 100 bottlecaps into 10 pre-war money. Nothing more, nothing less.

I also increased the damage values of low caliber weapons since I felt they were just too low, ya know. For those of you who like melee weapons, I adjusted the damage values for those as well.
