I expect I've missed something somewhere. If anyone notices any weird constant sound looping during firefights, let me know.

I agree honestly. I think the loops are there for a reason and work fine. Though, the unlooped "Assault Rifle" does sound a lot more fitting considering how chunky it is

This is cool, but weapons sound clunky because there's small delay which may or may not happen between automatic gun shot. You can hear the inconsistent gun sound if you shoot while aiming down sight.

The correct solution to make better weapon sound would be to make new loop .wav files with proper loop tags (for all 5 ROF of each weapon) instead.

I think this is a engine level bug because I've seen it reported even for FO76, dang Bethesda! Been using this mod for quite a while and still get the sound loop on raiders using vanilla weapons. Sound loop also happens from my character using a semi-automatic QBZ-191, yes a custom weapon. Sometimes I one shot NPCs without them firing their weapon and still gets the sound loop not from my character but from the dead NPCs.

Not saying this mod is useless it probably reduced the chances of the sound loop happening and I still thank mod author for making this mod, as this is the only mod trying to patch this bug.

Does this fix the stupid audio bug I get with the splatter cannon and handmade automatic rifle?

As I found out, the problem arises due to the lack of a sound file in the archive of the Nuka World add-on (WPN_RifleHomemadeAssault_Fire_Auto_MuzzleBrake_0900rpm_Player_LPM.wav). For Handmade rifle with muzzle brake there is no file for 900 rpm but in esp this file is present. Due to a bug in increasing rate of fire, the game just takes the maximum rate of fire at 900 rpm, but there is no sound file in the add-on archive. Look for the FormID "DLC04WPNRifleHandmadeAssaultFireAutoSilencedPlayerLPM [SNDR:06050AB2]" and you see it. So, i take sound file for 780 rpm, rename it to 900 rpm and there is no bug anymore!
So, here is a fix https://www.dropbox.com/s/z1xj1ow30cdd5yl/Handmade%20Rifle%20Sound%20Fix.rar?dl=0

is there any way to make patches for other weapon mods?
I'm not expecting you to make a ton of individual patches but maybe a tutorial on how to make out own would be nice

So does the "Better Automatic Weapon Sounds - Nuka World" version of this mod include both the BASE game weapon sound replacers AND Nuka World weapon sound replacers in the SAME file? Or does it only cover the Nuka World Weapons and not the base game as well? Do I have to download both main files

Had the same question, so I checked them in FO4Edit and the answer is you need both. Vanilla only touches vanilla and Nuka only touches Nuka.

Literally the first line on the Nuka download says:

      "Changes to the Handmade Rifle"

    I have two questions:
First of all, at the download menu you said "IF YOU'RE RUNNING NMM 0.63.16 OR EARLIER YOU NEED TO PLACE THIS AT THE TOP OF YOUR LOAD ORDER", but I'm using 0.63.14 and NMM says I'm using the latest version. Is this a mistake on your part or do we still have to place the file at the top of our load order?
Secondly, how far "at the top of my load order" do I have to place it? Because I can't put it above the .esm's (I'm fairly new to modding). Is just at the top of the .eps's fine?
