Rick, i apologize if this isn't the best place to ask, but this is the most recent patch of yours that i noticed.
Any chance you'd consider a patch for all settlements extended? There was one made, but it's not up to date, and it's only for the full version of SE, and i use Zawinul's limited version of Scrap Everything. I'd be willing to try to make one myself, but I'm afraid I'd break something else in the process. Either way, thanks for all the hard work, you've been a huge help for newcomers to Horizon!
Thanks for the nice comment! A mod like that is probably beyond my skillset...I probably seem like I know more than I do, modders like phlunder, archerdown thaman and redbaron are lightyears ahead of me...its sort of why I stick to what I know, most of what I know is just from trial and error and a mod like settlements extended are probably something I wouldnt feel comfortable doing. I just wouldnt upload something that I wasnt 100% on because I would never want to ruin someones game or break their save, its always a concern of mine... I dont mind trying new things too, but the summer is just a little more busy for me, if it was the fall I might be able to give it a go, but right now I usually only get 4 hours or so total throughout the week. Thanks again though for the nice comment, it means a lot and it always makes me want to make more patches hearing things like that!
Any patched clothes cant give scrap...but you can get scrap back if they have mods installed on them. The problem is that in order for patched mods to give scrap they have to be added directly into horizons scrap list. Every patched file would need to amend it so it would just be messy and annoying because every patched mod would overwrite eachother...
But its not a big deal really..for example, the drifter coat without mods gives 2 cloth i think, so its not like its a big loss anyways...
oh I see. Of course, it's not a big problem. by the way, is it in your plans to make a patch for this backpacks mod? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/29447/ Looks great.
I would have a couple weeks ago...when i tried it gave me some errors i had never seen before. Its weird, ive patched over 50 mods so i dont know what the deal is. I downloaded it again yesterday and i am going to look at it again his weekend. I recently added a mod that expands the upgrades of backpacks so i really want that mod for us to use with horizon!
I looked at the backpack mod last night and i think i can patch it easily. Ive already converted them to be similar to horizons backpacks. I patched up the level lists too.
All i really have to do is wait for the author to get back to me to see if its ok if i upload it. I had to change a lot of his stuff so hopefully hes ok with it....
I'm just wondering, you and redbaron dont use Armorsmith Extended ? Because Horizon has a patch for Armorsmith Extended but it conflicts with your Eli+Horizon patches i think its mostly the _ClothesTypeClothing_Slot and _ClothingClass* stuff thats missing.... and we ignore the AEC_ma_armor_Lining and a few other AEC_ma* of course so those lines are irrelevant.. maybe im missing something.. or maybe you just dont use AE. Why wouldnt anyone use it? So much confusion and most modders dont reply to posts :/
For example in this picture https://i.imgur.com/K1rXS1A.png
Red is what EAC unpatched does Green is what EAC + AE patch does Blue horizon comes in and wipes out everything because its a overhaul and dictates all Yellow Horizon's included AE patch comes in to save the day and include AE Black then your patch comes in and removes AE but restores EAC + Horizon , basically
im not even sure if _ClothesTypeClothing_Slot and _Clothing_Class_dapper even matters or has any noticeable impact on my gameplay, because im a noob at this :D But it seems bad at first glance..
Also why does your patch change Horizon's dn_armor_Casual to dn_armor_Rugged? EAC doesnt do this and horizon doesnt either, maybe you made a custom fix? (relating to the screenshot)
p.s. thanks for your patching anyway and im not critiquing just trying to improve my understanding
p.s.s i just noticed you're the guy from the Hide Helmet thread in Horizon posts from earlier hahah just stumbled upon your patches by google.
(Sorry i cant load that pic on my phone but i think i know what your saying!)
Ah ok! AE and AWKCR had me confused at first! When i first started patching it took me a loooong time to wrap my head around it!!!
So—first off your right. Horizon does most of what AE does already.
Those MA keywords—ClothingClass* and ClothingSlot* are used for sorting mods like valadicis item sorting, and probably for things like AE for sorting and organizing craftable items AE workbench. They arent added by AE they are added by awkcr. Ae needs to refer to them.
The AE workbench is great, but Horizon has the tech lab. So we now have a “miscellaneous” section for items. The point the AE workbench is to not clutter up the chem lab. A lot of my mods still use the chem lab because i linked them together with a hiding menu item, so the chem lab is fine since the menus dissapear when you dont want them anyways.
The only point i can see of having AE installed and the horizon ae patch is to have the extra colour swaps you might have for vanilla items.
So basically, new mod authors only use AE and AWKCR for the AE workbench. Any colour swaps they manually add in themselves for their gear that you upgrade at the armorworkbench. So its unnecessesary to have ae or awkcr anymore because after i clean the mod up i just remove awkcr and ae as masters because they dont refer to anything anymore!
**but...its ok if someone patches a mod and uses the ae workbench. This is just my own personal preference not to use it!
Dn casual and dn rugged are personal preference...it just determines sorting and the icon it gets.... casual made more sense before AE (and horizon). I could be wrong, but casual was probably for clothing that could be worn under armor parts. But now, everything can. So all dn casual and dn rugged does is change that picture next to the items name. Thats it.
I guess casual is for dresses and shirts and rugged is for anything “bulkier” clothes..
Its not like someones walking around with 25 outfits so they need to find them faster, so i guess i dont worry about it too much and just use rugged by default...
But...ya. Its ok for it to conflict with the ae horizon patch, dont worry! I mean, if anyone wants the outfits to have dn_casual id be happy to change things. I just find these items really unique and detailed. If a mod added plain jeans and white t shirt, sure id use dn_casual...
Oh, and i do have ae installed and the horizon ae patch. I use archerdowns horizon patches and he uses ae in some of his...so its ok to use mods that use ae and mods that dont! The beauty of horizon is that because all mods are patched and ae is patched, everything is balanced to be equal anyways
...and personally, id always respond to someone! I mean, the modding community is pretty small and its good to stick together. Plus, i just like helping people, ive aways been like that. 2/3 of the stuff i patched i will never use...i just know the work zawinuls put into horizon and i wouldnt want anyone to pass on it because their favourite mod was incompatible..
Oh right! I cant see that image and its been a while since i patched eli, but i assume your talking about deacons pre war clothes! Ya, its all good, for the reasons i mentioned above. Just a minor cosmetic change of a menu tag...nothing important at all.
Man thanks so much for all that info my level of worry just dropped by like 90% XD I feel comfortable enough to use FO4edit for patching armor mods now (Until of course I run into something weird!)
I'm gonna look at your patches and what they do to unpatched armor mods and will try to apply the same exact process for https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12205/ Survival Outfit Collection. There are some truly unique delicious looking armors in that one!
Will update this thread if I succeed maybe share the patch if you or anyone cares to mess with it after or correct it perhaps XD
Holy freaking crap i just found your armor patch central lol 40+ files damn dunno how I missed that before when i was installing Horizon and looking for patches! Which ones do you personally recommended (or use) ??
so far i have Eli's Armour Compendium, Mercenary pack, and now Survival Outfit Collection
maybe this is enough clothes LOL I'm not playing a wardrobe simulator afterall!! (or am I?)
Ughh...i know....my whole mod manager is full of armors and patches, i am going to have to delete everything if im going to play again! Its a disaster...hahahah..
I just tossed some in there so i didnt clutter things when people searches for horizon patches. A few like adventure outfit, veteran ranger, ncr and wasteland sniper i ‘suped up with magic effects so i gave them their own page. Others i thought were unique enough to warrant their own page too...
Adventure outfit isnt popular, but its probably my favorite outfit. When i play i like to be a jack of all trades sort of indiana jones/uncharted kind of guy and it fits well with the theme!
..but i should go to armor patching rehab...i need to be locked away to deal with the withdrawl symptoms first..hahhaha
Do u know how to resolve a small TINL - Total Number of Tints In List conflict ? I grabbed a neck and face tattoo mod, Misfit Ink, but it overwrites HumanRace data that is used by THBrows (eyebrows mod), and at the top the TINL for THBrows is 1974 and the one for Mistfit Ink is 1949, in my patch, how do I add up these two is what I'm wondering
Cant find anything about TINL on google or creationkit.com O_o
I think I have to calculate how many new tints each mod adds, Fallout4.esm has 1918 by default im guessing then THBrows must add 56 new ones and Misfit Ink must bring 31.... O_o ...... o_O
Ahh nvm I think the mod page used to have a warning that it conflicted with other Humanrace form IDs... cached by google.. but this warning nowhere to be found anymore .
Get Clothing of the Commonwealth with Ricks patch to have it merge to the leveled lists with Eli Compendium and the Mercenary pack !! I rarely wear these clothes myself, but they make it much more enjoyable to gun down raiders since they do not all look like a armored pyjamas gang anymore, instead many look like more believable raiders and criminals
hahaha Reve23 ..... exactly what I was hoping to accomplish too by installing EAC + Merc Pack + as many clothes/armors as possible, i want to feel like theres 200 years of killing eachother history in that wasteland! I wasnt sure all these additions would spread to the NPC's, im guessing thats what a leveled list is for!
Thanks for this one. Is your leveled list patch "HorizonEliMercandClothingLevelListPatchNOBAREFOOTNPCS" from the downloads on your Clothing of the Commonwealth patch, still working good even though you remade this one? Did just see some conflict on Gunners LL with Merc - pack., but no idea if it's intentional btw forgot to tell ya for a long time that this LL patch does still spawn enemies with barefoot versions sometimes (and settlers too maybe...just 100% on the raiders). At first I didn't like it, but I have grown to think it is pretty cool with variation anyway so not a big deal for me personally, just wanted to let you know while I still remembered it haha.
Oh it will all still work, all items are the same. There was no conflicts (i dont think, its been a while) before but archerdown updated his patch so i should update those level lists. It wont be anything game breaking but i bet some have changed. i already had someone ask me for some level list patches and i was going to redo them and put them on my clothing of the commonwealth and eli pages! Im doing that tommorow for sure, it wont take long!
Ah must have missed a bare foot clothing item or two! I might as well as look at that well im at it, that will be easy aswell!
I thought that Z purposefully made ballistic weaves as part of drops? I've seen him comment on the Horizon board that removing a weave from dropped armor as one of the ways of getting them prior to the RR unlock.
Ya this shouldnt affect that at all, i dont think. But, even if it did, whatever system z has in place will still drop all the weaves since these outfits are all just extras added to the level lists anyways. I just know there were things being given way to frequently to these armors throwing off balance so i just made sure it couldnt happen.
Oh ill post that in the description! Just uninstall his then install mine. It all overwrites the same files. You might have to drop and pick things up again for changes to take place!

I noticed one thing that might be helpful, the "personal tool kit" can not be used with Elli's clothes

...but I fixed those few barefoot npcs that I missed! So now there should be none if you use the no barefoot version!
I thought that Z purposefully made ballistic weaves as part of drops? I've seen him comment on the Horizon board that removing a weave from dropped armor as one of the ways of getting them prior to the RR unlock.
Keep it up!
