Currently lv 46 in my current play-through and feel I need to slow the eff down on leveling. I completely eliminated crafting experience and now I am going to test your 3% reduced level up speed.
I know right? Its WAY too fast in vanilla. By the time I had expanded MM settlements and just gotten to the institute I was level 32. Not only was combat lame from no challenge but when you unlock the top crafting perks so early into a playthrough, the progression and sense of advancement gets totally killed. For me theres like no point left in playing once I have weapons/armor/settlements maxed out, as those are the major gameplay hooks that have kept me in Fallout for over 1000 hours.
It was one of the early single request for user: b6lph6gor6 and it seemed to work well enough. Should edit the file for a refined version for all of those who want to build castle or two ingame without fear of overlevelling while doing it.
LOL I found a problem with the beta test zero exp. Actually moreso a problem with turning it off...
I went from level 12 to... 4194.
edit: Also bizarre... loading back to before disabling the mod at level 12 it appears I am perpetually stuck at level 12 and player.getav experience says I'm at 660000000.00 which seems a bit high?
That's really strange because I've enabled/disabled the mod before without any issues.
edit: Hmm, yeah. I tested. On that earlier save at still level 12 if I do player.modav experience 1 then it bumps me up to level 4194.
If anyone else runs into this problem, after some extensive testing... I figured out a solution.
First I had to leave the esp enabled but I went in with FO4Edit and edited all of the values back to their original levels (it lists them in FO4Edit). After that when I went back into game my exp was still the same as before (660000000.00). So I went to the wiki to see the appropriate exp for my level and then I used player.setav experience to set my exp down to 6000. I killed some super mutants after that, not sure if that's relevant, and then I set my experience up to 7300 because the next level is at 7351. Killed a few more super mutants and it returned normal experience and I leveled up to 13.
So... if you disable the beta test esp and it doesn't go away there's a method to get it back to normal.
edit: Oh and I tried all kinds of cleaning with FallrimTools before that and it didn't help.
Yes, the beta esp would need a script for F4SE with a toggle on and off for setting between proper vanilla/build as much as you want modes, in which i have no clue what is the coding structure like + which versions of F4se i'd have to set up.
edit: or add text bat file which to set the current xp and globals back to vanilla and run it from console..
edit2: added uninstall batch file which users need to open and set last defined line for their experience value [ 750 x current level, a dirty 90% approximation but not too harsh i think ] save the file again and run it from console, save game and remove the esp.
Your 750*(current exp) formula is quite a bit off. For example, my character is level 34 with 46817.47 exp. If I were to do 34*750 that would be 25,500 which is a little over half what it should be and 1 exp before level 25 in fact. Someone would probably be better off looking up what their exp should be on the wiki and then putting that number there.
The correct formula is XPn=37.5*n^2+87.5*n-124 where n is one's current level (remember order of operations, Parenthesis, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction). Ex: 34=37.5*34^2+87.5*34-124 37.5*1156 = 43350 87.5*34 = 2975 43350 + 2975 - 124 = 46201
Unless someone is over level 100 though I'd recommend just grabbing the pre-calculated exp result from the wiki instead of having to math.
An easier formula would probably be to take your next level's exp and subtract your current level's exp to get the exp to next level (which is handily displayed for 1-100 on the wiki next to your current level's exp). But for the sake of it, let's just do it...
Once you have that value, decide what percentage of your exp bar you want. For instance, level 34 and 23% towards 35. So you could just pull up a percentage calculator and plug in 23% of 2675 and it returns 615.25. So then you could do 46201+615.25=46,816.25 and you plug that in as your current exp with the console command and you're now level 34 and 23% to 35 which is a pretty close proximity to my exp now.

No issues, though. Worked as intended. (WORKS ON MY MACHINE LOL!!!!!)
Thanks!

48,876 (next level) - 46,201 (current level) = 2675

totally under control.
