Hi is there a way to apply this amazing mod to other VR games????? I would even pay for the mod LMAO i have been tryin to figure it out specifically for NO MAN'S SKY VR
I would like to see a mod that adds distant blur to every weather... like in your comparison screenshots, but reversed. I think that distant LOD in Fallout 4 is ugly as hell, and little distant blur could be helpful. If someone will say: "Dynavision" - no, it blurs also sky and everything, so it's useless.
This would be a fun thing to test. Unfortunately, the static DoF disappears when you aim down sights. If this could be disabled, then you're on to something. This kind of DoF has an option to not blur the sky at all.
I wouldn't know where to begin to disable this feature, but I'll try to find a setting for it.
HH511, you're awesome. I had disabled that iron sight blur long ago and completely forgot about it and how it would react with distant DoF. I forgot it was a thing until you asked about it.
If this is true that disabling aim DoF allows static DoF to remain even while aiming down sights then I will try to whip up a static DoF mod to see how it looks. I'm not sure if it's good enough for this but we will see.
Sorry for the late reply, this didn't show up in my tracking.
I was thinking about uploading some form of it soon, I just needed to finish it. I got distracted with my other clothing mod. It was just that one weather you see in the picture, so It's kind of hard to test in game.
Hey do you think it would work with en ENB on? I am currently using the Candy eye one and i don't know if I can install your mod without causing any problems :/
Yeah...what xylaz said lol. I guess I should read the rest of the comments before blurting stuff out. A mod that actually added that blur effect at a perimeter right before the end of the draw distance, to make the buildings and objects draw without clipping in and out, or at least to disguise it a little. That would be sublime. Think a lot of other games do that actually. What a surprise, making more mods for things that should be built into the game. I actually expanded my uGrids loaded from 5 to 7 and upped the buffer from 16 to 36 to try to get rid of the awful clipping issues. It did help a little, I think I'll try a playthrough with it. Wouldn't dare go over that though, for fear of breaking the game entirely. I'm kind of surprised the mod Far Away Area Reform didn't do something like that, with a name that grandiose you'd think it would, but I really didn't notice much difference in their textures,
I tried to finish the distant DoF mod like you describe but it looked very bad in my opinion. I'm sure somebody with enough time could get it to look better, though.
That was one of the better looking screenshots I got out of it. To make it, you basically just copy the DoF image space settings from rad storms to all the other ones. It won't look good, but it gives you a good point to go off of. Then you can just hand tweak the values for each image space. I ended up getting really frustrated with it, because in some weathers the settings do not behave how you would expect. It was also very hard to tell what looked good or not because I personally just hate the blur.
In fallout 4 some of the post processing effects are really poorly done. Bloom and DoF are the same that were used in oblivion (maybe even morrowind but I haven't played that one yet) and the technology was already starting to age back then.
Many people like it and that's okay, it's only an opinion after all. I just personally would rather it be gone if it can't be updated to take advantage of modern pc's. It just takes away from what is otherwise a beautiful game. Shadows, LOD, textures, models, anti aliasing, lighting, etc. have all been updated for fallout 4 and smothering it in virtual vaseline developed for pc's 2 decades ago just ruins it for me.
NAC doesn't change the quality of the DoF at all. There is currently no mod to my knowledge that improves the games DoF.
Now there has been some fantastic DoF and bloom made for ENB's and reshades that actually take advantage of modern computers, those can look great when used properly.
Worst case scenario it does not affect fps at all. Best case scenario on a very low end pc, it may slightly improve fps. Depends on if the game truly disables the blur or just hides it. I can't test it on my pc, there is no difference. But there is also no difference between 1080p and 1440p- since I am cpu bottlenecking hard.
I would love to hear of somebody getting some performance improvement, that would just be a bonus. Let me know if you try it.

I was completely unaware of this feature. After testing, yes this is the same blur. Good info.
makes the game look so much better!
i use this mod with dynavision. So only really, really far objects get blurred (cause the distant textures are so ugly lol)

Edit: Forgot to say that this is if xylaz doesn't want to lose the static DoF.

I wasn't really impressed. It always feels so bloomy in bright weather. What do you think?

EDIT:
Fixed it by removing the following [Image Space] modifiers for underwater...
UnderwaterClearIS
UnderwaterDefaultIS
UnderwaterMurkyIS
When I get home later tonight I will fix this and double check any effects that shouldn’t have been included.
