Keep It HardCore
-by amullinix
!! - If you use this preset, please take screenshots and post them - !!
What it is:
This is a preset for DEF_UI. As such, it requires that mod to work.
This isn't even really a mod, I just really like what I did, and figured someone else would too.
This is based on my Keep Info And Save Space (KIASS)? Preset.
What you get to keep:
Directional Hit Indicator
Loaded Ammo
Rads Meter Icon
Compass (Directional, and Player Set Markers)
Active Effects
Health Bar
Power Armor Low Battery Warning
Hit Indicator
What you lose:
Action Point Bar
Total Ammo
Condition and Perk VB Icons
Crosshair
Quest Message/Regular Message
XP Bar
Tutorial Box (Animated Quest Box)
Region
Sorting Tags on the Container Widget
Explosives Indicator
Flashlight Indicator
Sneak Indicator
Legendary/Skull Enemy Icons
Critical Bar
Compass (Everything not specified in 'What you get to keep')
Explosive Ammo Count
Installation:
Mod Manager (recommended): click "Download with Manager" then activate within NMM, or your preferred manager.
The folder structure should be done properly, so that it goes directly into DEF_UIs DEF_CONF folder. When prompted, overwrite.
Manual: click "Download Manually" then open the file with 7zip (or preferred) and navigate to the file.
Move file from the zip, to your DEF_CONF folder, replace DEF_HUD with provided file.
Recommended Mods:
Immersive HUD (iHUD) - by Gopher
- Requires HUDFramework (recommended anyway) - by registrator2000?
- Additional functionality with Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) (recommended anyway) - by registrator2000
Valdacil's Item Sorting - by Valdacil
- Requires Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource (AWKCR) (recommended anyway) - by Valdacil
Silent UI? - by ModelsOfBoats?
- Requires Nexus Mod Manager for proper installation. Does not support manual installation, based on lack of instruction on mod page.
NOTE:
I use Gopher's Immersive HUD (iHUD) and designed it with his mod in mind. Though I have removed a few HUD elements that iHUD can also remove...
I still recommend it.
I DO NOT PLAY SURVIVAL MODE. However, I know enough about it and its purpose that I think this will be a nice fit.
I DO NOT USE VATS.
Silent UI, while not required for this to work, is HIGHLY recommended. I have removed all aspects of leveling, messaging, and quest updates in this UI preset.
Without a mod that removes the sounds that pair with those UI aspects, it will be a little awkward.
