    Is the VR style HUD available for non VR play?

      I'd like to see this as well; the only other mod that I've found that attempts to do so is physically incapable of displaying the red "reduced maximum" bars for HP or AP, which is more frustrating than the HUD being transparent.

      That's a shame, because it's much better than the regular one

    You are more than welcome to edit the files as you wish. I recommend Paint.NET (https://www.getpaint.net/) for editing PADash05.dds.

    Paint.net is the BEST free image editor. It has a nice friendly user interface. Hundreds of free plugins.   I just started to try out paint.net and I am using my XP-Pen Deco 03  pen tablet . it have a great results .

    I know I`m going to sound like a retard here, but I`ve followed all the instructions on the main page except...

    " Also add *Fallout4_VR.esm to your plugins.txt "

    Where is my plugins txt? I see it nowhere.

    how to setup fallout to load mods for vr stuff:

    in C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME HERE]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4VR\Fallout4Custom.ini

    [Archive]
    bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
    sResourceDataDirsFinal=
    sVRResourceStartUpArchiveList=
    sVRResourceIndexFileList=
    sResourceStartUpArchiveList=Fallout4 - Startup.ba2, Fallout4 - Shaders.ba2, Fallout4 - Interface.ba2, Fallout4_VR - Shaders.ba2
    sResourceIndexFileList=Fallout4 - Textures1.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures2.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures3.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures4.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures5.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures6.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures7.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures8.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures9.ba2, Fallout4_VR - Main.ba2, Fallout4_VR - Textures.ba2

    This combined with a loadorder.txt and plugins.txt in your C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME HERE]\AppData\Local\Fallout4VR

    plugins.txt should read: (or add *Fallout4_VR.esm to the end if you are already modding)

    Fallout4.esm
    *Fallout4_VR.esm

    loadorder.txt should read:

    Fallout4.esm
    Fallout4_VR.esm

      [VRUI]
      bUseMinimalPAHUD=0

      change to 1 to have a minimal power armor hud.

      bethesda sneaked this in in the beta patch

      edit. i geuss its in the settings menu!

    Just a quick note: it probably isn't more immersive to have an opaque HUD. In real life (e.g. in aircraft or that new star-wars themed AR headset), HUDs are often implemented by having an angled piece of glass which reflects a brightly lit display somewhere the person can't see directly. This gives the impression of a transparent display overlayed onto real-life objects. If you make the piece of glass curved then you can make the reflected display look in-focus when your eyes are focused on objects further away, much like the lenses in a VR headset make it possible to focus on a screen that's only an inch or so from your eyes.

      This is just a helmet with dials on it, not a real HUD. Heads Up Display in this case is just a figure of speech.

      In Fallout universe, which is in the future of twisted 50's atomic continuum, there probably isn't any HUD's as we know them.

    Why doesn't this work as loose files? I have never had to repack a BSA to install a texture mod.

      You should ask Bethesda why loose files don't override like they are supposed to.

      After january beta-update this should work as intended with loose files.

      Edit: Does not work, must extract the new updated ba2 files.

    This is an indicator panel, not a HUD.
