Rick, I'm surprised this mod hasn't gotten more attention. I love all your patchworks and such, and this sounds pretty cool. I'm finishing up a new LO for Horizon and I'm going to pop this baby in. I'll let you know how it goes, and thanks!
Sorry to bother you again hehe. I made a post on the Horizon page earlier about some way to increase the available ammo a little bit in my Desolation playthroughs without making it feel like I cheat. Got some useful tips from some others (mainly more caps to buy ammo, by for example increasing the value on some loot in fo4edt) but then I came to think of this mod. Have not had the pleasure of playing much since I downloaded it so I thought I ask here before screwing up half my game haha. Do you think this mod would help a bit in making the player have a little, little more caps in the end? I thought mostly about these "presents" in pre-war food that is sellable and that chemical residue stuff might make it cheaper to craft medical supplies = not so much money spent on doctors = more money for ammo. What is your opinion if you got any ?
I understand what your saying, that “cheating” feeling can ruin your gameplay experience. Its sort of why every single patch i release has a positive and negative effect (like how the stealth armor gives you rads and the cross prewar armor is heavy)... I hoped with this patch to sort of balance things out the same. So you COULD make caps, but then again, what if you only take rads and screw yourself even more? So im not sure if this would help you make caps in the end, its sort of random.
Your best bet is to have the same thought and go into foedit and edit something that makes it easier in one way....yet harder in another. I think your most immersive way is to change the bartering and vendor rates. Its safe and is an easy edit!
In “game setting” there are two values.
-fBarterSellMax
You can see with Horizon opened at same time the default values...if you raise sell max it changes the maxium you can sell items for..the default game is 80%. Raise this to whatever you want, horizon is 50%.
-iDaysToRespawnVendor
Sets the days until vendors restock. Raise this maybe? Its default is 2, Horizon is 7. Maybe 9??
Its sort of more immersive and requires no editing of horizon objects so its 100% compatible with anything.
Wow this one went under my radar, glad I am always stalking your profile every couple of days for new things , the changes sound very interesting and well thought out. Since some of the items covered might change in an update to the original Horizon in the future. Could it be a problem to remove this mod from a save if for example there comes a new update to Horizon that conflicts with your changes? Or is the changes not that "complicated" and it should be safe to remove if Horizon suddenly changes a lot of stuff. I guess you wont be able to give a 100% answer, but I just wanted to know what you think. I ruined so many saves by impulsive mod installing and then having to delete and start over with a new game, when I a couple of days later must remove the mod for something else I didnt think about haha (only finished the game once, with Railroad never got close to with the other factions haha)
I think this is safe,i understand your concern though! I thought about that before i made this. i dont really see z making any more changes to consumables so i think its safe. I wouldnt have made this patch at v1.0 of Horizon, but i think its developed far enough that patches like this are ok now!
Yeah kind of what I thought too, so this will be installed tomorrow then always been annoyed by the "drink the whole vodka bottle at once" since Oblivion/Fallout 3 came out so this "2/3 full" feature is going to be niiiiiiice!
Ya, Ive always wanted something like that too, but i never knew how...but i realised that z added some consumables that give you items when you use them, so i figured i could apply it to other items! I mean, you can give back the same item again...but just change the name of it! It was pretty simple!
Had about one hour to spend at the computer today and I just had to try this mod instead of doing what I am supposed to (like fixing my patch haha) and it is fantastic, I love the extra crafting recipes and such, Fallout 4 is soon on par with Skyrim and the Alchemy skill. Only tried Smoking cigarettes before, but got encouraged to get it again and also Animated Drinking because of this mod and it adds a nice feeling of your charachter "being alive" IMO Noticed that I suddenly had two 100 caps valued Grognak comic books. I have not eaten any Pre-war food and mostly just ran around my settlement since installing this so I am not really sure where this is from. Could not find anything about it on the description so might be something else but it felt fitting to this mod so ? They also had no sorting tags if that is relevant. And for your OCD, "Empty Stimpack" should be "Empty Stimpak" hahaha sorry
DAMMIT!!! Stimpack! Im an idiot! And im at work and cant fix that for a while...hahhaha its going to bother me all night!!!
Two 100 value ones? Weird...i think i put in mine at 60 or something..i think... and i gave mine the valuable tag too, i didnt leave anything without tags. Seems strange that i added some and you have some in your inventory, no way that can be a coincidence? I think?? I will look at that...but off the top of my head i cant figure out how it could happen..i just added the comics to the bubblegum and that was it!
I gotta fix my annoying damned stimpaCks do i’ll take a look at things while i have it opened up!
Ok found the problem...I left the old grognak references in my patch...I only moved them over there so I could look at them quicker to make the new ones for the gum...but forgot to delete them like an idiot...You might have to drop and pick up your grognak comic again but everything should be fine now.
Oh and more importantly I fixed all the stimpak typos. hahaha.....
Started using Horizon and am enjoying it very much and your changes sound appealing, however the necessity of using Have a Beer - Animated Drinking makes it a non starter for me. Any chance of your mod being standalone and not needing pre-reqs? Thanks for sharing your mod/s no matter the outcome.
Ya i know what you mean, ughh...i hated uploading it with that requirment. It just eats up a lot of time when updating things! I wasnt sure if anyone would be interested in this and i havent seen any issues with it...so ya, i’ll upload one that doesnt need have a beer!
