How does one scrap / pickup these pieces?  I can place them just fine, *beautiful work btw*, but they don't highlight to be selected / scrapped / moved once placed.

Thanks in advance, I scrolled through a few pages in hopes of finding a fix before commenting.

Does anyone else have an issue where some tabs disappear from the build menu? I can't access the vanilla Elevators, Raider stuff, Cages, etc.

Hello. great mod. i have a little issue. i was building in the Castle when i realized that the settlers don't use the little stone stairs. They do use the stair from the foundation section. i can use those for now.

    Thank you for your time.

Try this (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/66636?tab=description) and see if it fixes the problem.

this mod does not allow you to complete the Kellogg's memory quest because at the end the boy stands and does not approach the hunter, I think he prevents other quests as well

Great mod and and I’ve built some really cool things with it, but how do you use the “Helpers” in the Snap N Build menu??? The ones where there’s out lines of posts and and arrows on the floor???

Does anyone know where in the menu it puts the options? I have a lot of mods installed and where it puts the items are important to me.

    This mod works fine.

I am using it Homemaker and SOE at the same time.

Faction Capsules: To get the faction capsules you cannot do it from the tape. You have to build the configuration board. It is found under resources -> Miscellaneous -> Snap and Build Configurator.

Solving the Navmesh/Pathing: I am also using the navmesh patch: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/66636  - With this patch my companions were able to wander on in to the BoS capsules I had built.

Capsule Snapping is Tricky: Of note, when making the capsules. Not all the parts seem snap to all the pieces. So, snapping 'works' but is does not easily work for all options. For example, some end caps work well with some wall pieces but not the capsules and some walls snap easily on one side of the capsules but not the other. In my experience, one wall only accepts interior snapping. (This is purely anecdotal.) One neat trick to combine capsules place an interior wall. This will force the next capsule you place to snap to that wall. This in turn snaps the capsules together and you can remove the wall. (See image) By this I mean, you can use interior walls to force snapping and probably can use this in other ways as well. Other users say the snapping all works fine but is tricky with some pieces.

I mainly post this here since it took me a while to find the answers to these questions.

Also, when/if you uninstall the mod. You need to do so from the holotape or you will loose your menus. It is easy to resolve this by reinstalling the mod, using the holotape to 'uninstall' the mod and then you can uninstall the mod without issue. You can also use the holotape in SOE to fix menus as it has a menu reinitialize option or some such.

    Good luck and have fun!

Thanks. I'll keep fussing with it. ;)  (and edit my original post to include that it works, or at least for some folks.)

Curious though, do you use the navmesh patch? Could it be possible that is affecting my snapping? I can't imagine it would, but I am open to oddities like that.

Modification permission: You are not allowed to modify my files, including creating bug fixes or improving on features under any circumstances.
Ugh. Why???? The mod has obviously been abandoned. I hope the author will change that permission. It needs navmesh fixes and snapping fixes, at least. :(

Ugh, because it is THEIR Intellectual Property, because THEY did all the work creating the Mod Package, and it is THEIR choice what legal rights they keep hold of.

..Now, all that said, that is referring to doing any fixes or changes AND RELEASING THEM TO THE PUBLIC. (Not Shouting, just emphesizing).

You may do ANYTHING you like with any and all files on YOUR computer, make any changes, make any fixes you like ... You just CANNOT SHARE them with anyone else, because, well they are not yours to SHARE.

It was a rhetorical question. Obviously everything you said is the reason. I was just expressing my sadness that this will probably never get fixes.
i HOPE that IS okay WITH you.

kingconrail76, clearly you have some issues projecting your own butthurt onto others. No one asked for the intellectual property lesson, captain obvious.

Yeah, it's a real shame that this kind of proprietarianism has become so normalized. Authors indisputably have the right to enact such restrictions, but back in the day it would have been unthinkable to disallow others to improve upon or fix one's work, at least after it has been effectively abandoned.

First off, it's an ok mod immersive and realistic probably not. If you or anyone wants to fix it or update it or change it, you can ask for permission from the mod creator before lashing out with complaints. Technically you can recreate your own version of snaping s#*! together it's part of the in-game grid. Therefore, creating a new mod and you can make it more sophisticated, simple, totally different, better or the same. I see no issue the possibilities are endless. I don't know how many mods there are like this, but I think it make more sense to get a mod that doesn't snap but actually merges walls and attaches different buildings with no "RED cannot build here BLOCK". Snap is good for even placement but like pretty much everything in existence nothings perfect.

Ugh, Bethesda owns the game and pretty much anything to do with it. That argument makes zero sense considering the modder doesn't own any or most of it.

they don’t get paid for it, therefore, there is absolutely no point in a ban, they made a good mod that needs to be improved, and they act like a dog in the manger, they don’t do it themselves and don’t give it to others, that’s all, but about intellectual property ...not the best excuse given that bethesda doesn't go after modders who quite obviously use bethesda's intellectual property to create mods based on it

Funny how certain mod authors attempt to make empty claims to intellectual property based entirely on a product by a company (Bethesda) that explicitly disallowed any claims to intellectual property on works based on or created on the basis of the aforementioned product (Fallout 4, in this case). In essence - cute little flex on author's part, but completely legally unenforceable.

@ Roguer You are wrong, bethesda and any video game company the only thing they have always asked for is that the modifications are not paid for but free. The problem comes when companies want mods to be changed at will and on certain of their platforms to download, they also require modders to work piecework without earning a penny. And that, my friend, is not fair, what the video game companies (which have developers under contract) do not do, the modders do and then the companies take advantage of them. And in fact, if bethesda did not allow you to use the game itself to modify it, you would not be able to download mods on its official page or pay in the creation club. So no friend, you're wrong, the mods are the work of the modders, not the companies, so any modification is the property of the modder, not the companies, no matter how much their game is, the idea and the work remain theirs. the modders.

@ad3d0: OK, so you don't want to maintain these files and fix all the bugs you've introduced, nor do you want others to do this... Fine. If you want to hold on to this hardly-intellectual property of yours, you'll forever be associated with this product of questionable quality. No download from me.

in the Photos i clearly see "optional?" textures for some of the building pieces like those brick walls in the Shack Walls section, and also i see those Capsules have alternative colored textures complete with Faction Logos on them :(

I ONLY have capsules like this below with an orange stripe across them

I do NOT HAVE Blue Capsules with Minutemen logos like this below

and i ONLY have Shack Wall options for Wood or Metal walls pieces like this below

i DO NOT HAVE sexy shack wall pieces made of 4 colors of bricks like these below

I checked the Holotape settings in Pipboy and it doesn't appear there a menu to make changes to which textures you want to use for the pieces?? this is all not documented has anybody firgure this OUT for this otherwise tried and true awesome mod?

      thanks

Didnt realy want to hijack old thread though, this is very oversimplified statement that does moders a great diservice. Everything that uses original assets (which is the case in this mod) is actually property of Bethesda. Original work like Fusion Girl, CBBE, Companion IVY, Zex Skeleton, Outcats and Remnants, Fusion City, Ikaros, new guns, new armors, clothes and so on and so forth, you get the idea, anything that has nothing to do with original assets on the other hand is the intelectual property of the authors. This mod is NOT the case. This mod doesnt contain anything outside existing assets, so whoever can do prety much whatever with it, rules of Nexus are in this case irrelevant so are the wishes of the author. If you dont want peaople to fiddle with your mod that is positioning original assets of the game, DONT POST IT!

You are wrong. On top of using some in-game assets this mod contains a lot of models and textures I've created myself.

When I move more than about 30 feet away from any multi story building I make with the Real Estate set I suddenly see the floors rapidly phasing slightly through the walls and then back inside, wtf is this?
