Apparently.... and its difficult to tell, because the thick necked cretin of a radio operator at the Castle has been watching movie holotapes of Early 21st Century military radio jargon in action, and won't do Commonwealth a la mode fashion commentary... but virtually the entire female population in the Minuteman Settlements has fallen to the butterfly wing fashion!! "Totally...ermm w w well like... umm awesomel ..... well... looks errr.. great.... but... umm all 33, in errrr each ss..sss..ssettlement...I dduh duon't h.h huh hunderstand... unless y.. y..y.. you s.. s.. send all muh muh m.. males to a D duh duh Death.... uh uh r r r Re-Education Camp, s... s.. s.. settlement and thu thu then hit it wi wi with artillery fire'' A well known Diamond City DJ gushed enthusiastically! A Modom Piper of same DC, has issued a smaller but no less noisy sibling with a valuable green crayon for the next Publick Occurences 'Swimwear Edition', to fully illustrate in glorious monocolour, the bizarre new trend!
Vyvyan Shouse-Byotch of 'The Raider' is calling it "... the look to Diiiiiiiiiie for...''
Even Tabitha the Art Critic has deigned to comment from her Ivory Tower via Black Mountain Short Wave :"Kiill Allh huuumurns Kill.... guuhrrr uhrrr dhaaaat luuurrks purrrrhhrrrty... Mee whaaaant... meee waaannnntttt... MEEE WAAAHHHHNT.... KIIIILLLLL."
A cub reporter Sean Somebody from the Fashion Institute had something to say too.... but we simply ignored him as usual.
This is a fantastic mod, especially considering that this is your very first mod. Unfortunately, when I run my elbows stick through the wings sort of making this mod usable only for static poses and screenshots. Or is there something that I am missing? I am not a modder, but I think something could (and should) be done to make the wings fold something like 30 degrees backwards when you run and unfold (return to their normal position) when you stop. Should this be possible and achieved, I would think that this mod could easily become one of the mods of the month.
The mod doesn't have collision mesh so nothing wrong with your installation. Creating such without any prior knowledge like me will require too much time and effort. Also when collision exists you need to consider many new things related to it... I once thought of many ideas with the wing (like run/walk/idle animation, ability to fly with nice animation, add small particles dropped when in animation, trailing line when you fly,... just like popular fairy you see in films/cartoons) but they're just too much for my level. Thanks for your post.
And thanks for your reply. I understand what you mean. Perhaps someone more experienced could be engaged then to make your ideas and dreams for this mod come true. That would be truly great (NOTE: You may wish to contact langnao - the author the amazing "Girly Animation" mod. He might be able [and, I hope, willing] to help you out).
Also, one does not have to be a professional to realize the simple truth that you state - creating proper collision meshes would be a daunting task even for a pro. My original suggestion had nothing to do with collision as such. Personally, I would be content if the wings' geometry changed (folding back about 30 degrees) when running and unfolding to normal position when standing or walking. I don't believe creating proper collision meshes that interact dynamically with the body/body parts (such as elbows) would be required to achieve what I've suggested.
In terms of programming, it would simply mean that when a condition changes (you switch from idle or walking to running), the geometry of the wings changes and they continue to be displayed as a static object (just as they are now) only with different geometry. There would be no need for full-blown, collision-based animation.
Thank you so so much for documenting the other mods in your screencaps! I can't even begin to express how many times I've seen something I want in some mod's pictures, only for the trail to go cold cuz it wasn't credited by the uploader :(
Seriously modders, please try to document the mods visible in your screenshots as thouroghly as possible
