For some reason, this mod changed the value of the shotgun shell (in every instance) to about 100 caps as a base cost. That means I was seeing them with a value of 200 in game. Was able to fix with fo4edit, but just be awar you may need to do the same, unless you want to get super rich like IMMEDIATELY.
Hawthorne does not become a companion when I ask him to follow me, he then reverts back to vanilla state with no follow option ever again. Using Liga of my Companions.
uhm, im not sure if it because im using your mod with horizon but when i tried to hire hawkthorne he just completely ignored me and returned to his old self telling stories, he didn't follow me at all.
Don't have Horizon installed, but running into same issue. Got the recruit dialog, told him to join but he didn't follow me out of the Dugout, and then when I got back and talk to him again it's the vanilla dialog.
Glad to see this and I hope you continue with them. I have always thought Bethesda missed the mark on a lot of good companion candidates. Granted some would be hard to do because of unique voicing - Ingram, Brandis, Glory, Ricky Dalton, Sturgis and some others I've probably forgotten. Some of the random encounter NPC's might have been good possibilities also.
Will keep an eye out for more of these.
Edit: Drummer Boy (he seems bored) and The Scribe, and Honest Dan would be good also. Have you run into 3 or 4 named wandering Raiders? I can't find them on any random encounter lists but I see them quite often. Usually around Revere Satellite Array or Cambridge Polymer Labs. If it could be done they would make interesting choices for companions. Can't remember their names right now.
Two other good possibilities, if they could be done - Erickson(Supermutant from FH) and Cito from NW.You probably considered them already.
So many missed opportunities on Bethesda's part, especially some of the NPC's who were temporary companions and we all hoped they could be permanent companions after their missions.
Perhaps you could concentrate your efforts upon Nuka World? There are plenty of mods to extend NW playability but none (that I know of) which relate to individual companions, especially custom voiced companions. I think it would be fun to have leaders such as Mason and Nisha (perhaps even Dixie) accompany the player, it would make sense that they trail along to keep you in check and make sure you are honoring your promises.
Nuka-World is definitely on my to-do list. I love characters like Mags Black and Mason. Why wouldn't the Overboss be able to recruit them?
Cricket is actually one of the first NPCs that came to mind when i started modding, so stay tuned for that.
And Travis would be a challenge, because of the fact that it breaks immersion of him having a radio show and being a companion at the same time, but he would be very fun to try out because "confidence man" makes him less afraid of the wasteland.
I think that for Travis you can easily roleplay that he has radio stuff (pre) recorded, can maybe have him explain this to player? Some other ideas: BoS - after becoming knight/paladin, scibes can train with you (Haylen, Rhys, Clarke...), also paladin Brandis; for Railroad the obvious choice is Glory; then maybe someone from AtomCats; Mel from the Big Dig; Kasumi from FH; Cito from NW..
Really like 010406102's recommendations. Especially Haylen and Glory. I hate that my game treats Glory as if she's dead... Perhaps a companion mod would fix that.
I don't think Travis would be immersion-breaking because some of his segments loop anyway if you listen to Diamond City Radio long enough, so the insinuation would be that he plays pre-recorded audio when he leaves the station. Since it's a mod, it wouldn't be a big deal to just let the player fill in the blanks.
Seems like people have a lot of really good suggestions for npcs that would make sense as companions, I guess I'll just add another one. Paladin Brandis if he rejoins the Brotherhood and you side with them in the main story. It always seemed odd to me that after going back into active duty for the attack on the Institute all the guy does is stand around in the mess hall and complain about the recruits being too green. I also though he would make a really great replacement for Danse as a power-armored companion.
On a completely unrelated note, I hope you get all the kinks figured out with this mod and have a long and happy modding career. It's an easy thing to lose enthusiasm for, and I've always been incredibly grateful for everything the modding community around Bethesda's games has produced. Hope to see some of your work featured on the front page in the future, cheers.
thanks for the kind words. I'm trying to balance modding, playing fo4 myself, and playing other games so i don't lose interest in playing and modding it. A new one is coming soon, so stay tuned.

I'm stumped.
Great mod, though!
I'm out for the night, so all i can say is try a fresh install.
I'll look at it tomorrow

And I've been researching all of the characters, including the ones that you mentioned, and some of them don't seen so farfetched.

If you could recruit him after completing "Confidence Man" that would be amazing.
