This mod is wonderful!! Is there a way to install pipe scope besides pipe weapons? ?I'm sorry, because I can not speak English, it is a machine translation)
It's a good machine translation. I hope it translates well in reverse.
Unfortunately, the only way to get this scope on other weapons is to manually edit the 3D models for each weapon scope. I currently don't have the time to do that. I hope to have more time in the near future. The hunting rifle scope will probably be the next one I will do.
Trying to install it without NMM and can see to paste the texture and meshes folder in the appropriate game directory folder but unsure where to put the 'materials' folder with the 2 BGEM files (sorry this is all new to me). Where exactly does it go?
Everything should go inside the Data folder, as it is. You probably don't have a materials folder yet, because none of your other mods have created one yet. Why are you not using Nexus Mod Manager?
Have re-installed 4 times now and got sick of the hassle of NMM so I started to just take the whole modded game directory and dump it back over the fresh install (after downgrading W10 to 1703 for performance benefits)
The pipe scope came in multiple pieces and I had to scoop every part out in 3dsmax. The other scopes seem to be better modeled so they should take a shorter time to edit, especially now that I have the reticle in the proper place. But I'm still waiting to see if somebody comes up with a better solution.
I'm currently trying to make a laser sight. I could simply make them a reflex sight with a very wide field of view, in which case I could push them 100m in front of the player. But unless I somehow manage to project them unto surfaces (a sort of decal), it would look ugly and it would be visible on the sky as well.
Haven't tried this mod yet but anything to correct the scopes in VR is really appreciated :) I'm having little luck with See-thru scopes but unfortunately I'm beyond pipe weapons so kinda stuck with reflex sights for now. Would be nice if you could do this for the hunting rifle. Anything which boosts the visibility of the reticle is also really helpful. If you are looking to design a laser sight, the one for the p99 mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12238) works (though the tactical flashlights do not). Check it out and maybe it will help your efforts.
I really like it, its what I hoped Bethesda would do as a bare minimum for scopes. Would love it for all the different scope types. Turned my revolver pipe-rifle into a pretty deadly headshot machine.
@dbp5ca No unfortunately, the P99 mod uses the same method as the "Tactical Weapon Mods" mod. They both use a laser line that gets occluded by objects (it needs to be, otherwise, it would be visible through the gun), but "punches" through them and it's visible on the other side. I will use something similar, but MUCH shorter, just for eye-candy. The P99 mod adds a physical dot roughly 15 meters in front of the player. The parallax is quite extreme, unless you fire almost through the sights. My scope already goes a bit better than them, because it ignores objects, so it can be pushed a lot more in front, reducing parallax error as well. Unfortunately, the error becomes worse when firing at very close targets. I really need to make it stick to the surfaces, somehow. I've still yet to test some of the shaders, and I'm a bit busy with an exam right now.
@svaek903 Glad you like it. As soon as I have more free time, I'll begin converting all scopes. It's unfortunate that I can't use the See-Through Scopes Framework directly, so I'll have to redo all meshes by hand. But I've got some good ideas from that mod. For example, because of normals affect what polygons you can and can not see, I can make the forward part of the scope invisible from the inside, improving the angle of view slightly. I didn't do that for the pipe scope by design, because it's a simple pipe, but I will do it for the other more advanced scopes. But it will take some time, as I'm a bit busy with real life stuff. I can't even play the game, sadface. Also, I'm still figuring out if I want to redo/recheck all sights for all weapons and to a complete overhaul, not just for the sniper scopes.
Quite a few changes made: - removed the extra "dirt lens" - removed unneeded textures - corrected UVs for some objects (makes editing easier) - better Night Vision filter - better reticle (be careful if you edit it, it's not EXACTLY centered in the image) - new lenses, based directly on the vanilla reflex sight.
Unfortunately, the mesh in the inventory screens (including the Modding Station) uses the 1st person mesh so it will be bugged. Is there any way to link it to some other mesh (like the "on the ground" one)? If not, i wonder if making the Reticle collision sphere small and moving it back to the center wouldn't fix the problem. Be right back.
EDIT: YEY! Seems to have worked. New version is up.
Aha! I didn't even realize that was an issue with my reflex sight mod too, until I read this (I assumed it was just the VR version of the game being weird). I'll definitely check out the collision spheres.
@zimboptoo Thank god it was such an easy fix. For your mod, make sure you remove the Z_Buffer_Test flag as well, otherwise, the reticle will not be visible behind geometry. Falloff distance needs to be longer than your reticle distance + arm length. Be patient with the reticle mesh. It's a biatch to tweak.
Anyway, looking at the Fallout 4 (normal) reflex sight, I kind'of like the way it handles reflections on the glass. Instead of using a complete reflection (and dirt), it limits the reflection to the edges. That way it can use a strong effect, without limiting visibility. I will probably remove my dirt lens and use the same method.

First of all thank for your mod!!
I want to ask you if you had tried this? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9476 maybe it helps
