    Hi, I know this is 2 years old or more this thread but after reading Lordkiller76 suggestion I found all you do is rename the weapons folder inside the data/sound folder to weapons.old. I also extracted using the users instructions and placed the UIF radio audio in the relevant audio folder as well. After starting the game again it never crashed once!

    I only downloaded the mod 2 weeks ago, a week later the higher my level the more crashes it gave whenever I went near them. But after reading the posts below I found it looks like an error where the mod is reading from 2 sources, both of which are the same. New to modding so not a clue to why.

      Where does the UIF radio audio go in and what folder was already in? Does the Radio and holotape go to the voices folder?

    So i found a fix that at least worked for me. My explanation might suck so simply put you just need to delete the weapon sound files. I did it by opening the uif main ba2 file (found in the data folder) in BAE (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/78/) and then extracting it back into the data folder. Once you do that delete the UIF main from it and go into data/sound/fx/weapons and delete all the uif sound files. There is probably an easier way to do it but like i said i'm not the best with handling files. After i did that i never experienced another crash from big fights in the mod.

      Is there any way you could explain it a little differently? I'm having the same problems, and I deleted the files you said, but I don't know for sure if I did it correctly.

      Thanks. My game crashed more than 7 times with UIF checkpoint, could not complete it. I only renamed the folder "*\Fallout 4\Data\Sound\fx\Weapons.bkp\" containing the *.wav files. In my case it only had weapons sounds from UIF. I played UIF checkpoint 3 times from save game without a problem. I can now rename folder back and remove if needed.

    Same issue with me some fights are fine and then others cause consistent crashes to desktop, not sure if it could be a certain unit or weapon that's causing the crash.

      I'm not sure what it is. I thought it was the weapons itself too because I kept crashing to the desktop when I tried to raid the gunners base past the UIF checkpoint. So I decided to follow the first guy's example and it solved that problem. But then once I got to Lowell and tried t meet up with a strike team to kill the Gunner General it crashed again and this time there wasn't anything really going on.

    Now i try to enter the battle near the uif checkpoint - but the game always crashes.
    i have tryed it 5x to reload the game but always the same. When i come near the battle the game crashes.

    I think there are big sound troubles in the mod. Is Version 1.0 or Version 1.fixed the correct one. NNM shows that thers is an update - but i use already the newest version 1.0 from 14.01

      mine ctd as well. but at corvega just after killing bonehead, when ya head back to the recruiter. running LOOT ( latest vers ) didn't seem to help either. i've had no trouble with mods interfering with each other, and plenty of power in my system. ( win 10, 24gb ram, FX8350, Radeon R9380 strix 4gb, and the game is on a ssd (sata6 )

      well I followed the first guy example and I was able to make it past the UIF checkpoint. But I'm not sure if that's the case cause for me it crashed right as I got to Lowell and was about to meet up with a strike team.

    I was getting constant crashing going close to diamond city gate with this mod. Can anyone verify that the janky sound fix works? Also does this remove sound from the game or affect it in any way or is this just a simple fix?
