The best mod for unlocking perks man you did a great job. Anyone who are trying to make this work just copy any one of the text files manually { first extract the zip file then you will get some text files and images. copy any of the text file and not the whole folder} in your fallout data folder and type in console bat addperkpoints5 { if you copied the text file with 5 perk points} and done. Its working like a charm and no crashes till now for me.
is there no way to get this to work by downloading through vortex? I really want this mod but I'm too new to modding to feel comfortable with trying a manual download...
Edit- finally decided to try my hand at installing this because there aren't any other mods like this on the nexus and I like the idea a lot, however, it does not work. idk if all these people in the post section are trolls or what but I followed every installation step the author said and it refuses to work, it just keeps saying file not found... I'm typing everything correctly according to the screenshot, I've placed the unzipped file in my fallout4 data folder, and i've been trying for the past 45 mins to get it working. this mod is a prank or something i guess...
Well I've had nearly 4k down loads and your the only one claiming it to be a fake. For everyone else (myself included) it works fine. Vortex should not be an issue as it is not going through vortex if you followed my manual install instructions. All you do is drop the unzipped files into your Fallout 4 > Data folder (some tell me they also work if you just put them in your Fallout 4 main directory). After which you use the console commands to run the Bat AddPerkPoints1 (or Bat AddPerkPoints5, etc) and there you go.
Honestly I've no idea why it might be causing you headaches beyond that point and can only suggest to you to double check your installation. There are realistically only two reasons this should not work: If the files were not put in the right directory or if you have re-named the files to something else.NOTE: renaming the file names are fine. You wanna call them APP1, APP5, etc? Go for it. Just remember what you named them.
Trust me. Don't over think this one. Just install it the way I'm suggesting. You are simply manipulating an in game feature. There are no scripts, etc happening here and it is not the sort of thing which should ever conflict with literally anything (to my knowledge at least).
The .bat files are saved as .txt files in the archive (you have to change the file extension)...which the instructions on the description page don't indicate.
So for anyone just now getting around to this file I wanted to offer an update: If you are using a mod manager to attempt to download / install this file be advised I've not included any file structure within the zip, it is just a text file with a couple of Jpegs files for images. Read the description page, and follow the install instructions I've already given, regardless of how you normally install files. I'm strongly suspecting the majority that are saying they are having issues with the install are using some form of mod manager to install the file.
If that is not your situation, I honestly don't know what the issue could be. I've verified the zip file, the manual download process, the file contents, etc.
Sorry for the long delay, I honestly haven't followed the comments section here closely enough apparently.
If the mod isn't working for you, then there are really only a couple of reasons why: 1) You didn't install it in the right directory. It needs to be in the Steam> Steam Apps> Common> Fallout 4 > Data folder. Make sure to unzip it, it is not enough to put the zipped file into the folder. 2) You are not using the right syntax for the command when you execute the Bat file. NOTE: you can rename the file name if you feel it and it wont mess up anything. For example once you have it unzipped into the right folder you could rename the file name to MorePts5 and then run it in game as such and it will work fine. Check out the description page for specifics on how your syntax should look when executing the bat command.
NOTE: I use these all the time in my own game and can assure you that if you have unzipped it into the right folder, and are spelling the command correctly, they should work fine 100% of the time.
Definitely doesnt work correct. I have tried the process you described multiple times and it still does not work. I have not changed anything or done anything that you did not describe to do. I truly think it is broken to some extent. I dont care how many downloads you have, it is obviously not working for a devent bit of people.
Got mine to work had to manualy add it to the data folder. Vortex didnt seem to do it. Even tho all my other mods have been done through Vortex. Odd, but anyhows thank you.
