Thanks for the support everyone and please continue to report bugs - I'll be working tirelessly to eliminate them all and make this a smooth gameplay experience - we can and will have automated settlement building!

We're still working on the wiki pages if you prefer to read things, but for those of you who like video guides, the in-depth series is up and will show you how all of the systems work in Rise of the Commonwealth:

If you're not able to activate the City Plan on the desk, be sure you are on version 3.0 of Sim Settlements. Any desks built before the 3.0 patch will need to be picked up and set back down in order to create the updated items.

You'll know if it worked because you'll have a safe on the desk just above the file cabinet drawer.

It's become clear to me that I can't be a one man army on the support front, I had kept up with it until about October of last year, but now things have grown to the point where I need regular help. If you receive a response from damanding or kalimac, they are helping me out to keep up with everything to ensure everyone gets there questions answered and bug reports added to my fix list.

I will still try and pop in periodically to respond to some things personally, but balancing my time between fatherhood, my job, and continuing to develop the mod has become close to impossible without help - hope everyone understands!

Patch 4.0.1 is now available, this shaves off some unnecessary models to reduce the overall file size.

Incredible work on all the SIM settlement mods.

A quick question regarding the city plans. I am going through the mod list by Bitraitbec and noticed that the city plans appear as .ESL files unselected in the plugins tab in NMM.

Did anyone know where in the load order they should be? I assume they need to be selected also.

    Thanks in advance.

i apologize if this is redundant. however it means a lot to mean that the fly-around view when starting a new build be... disabled. my followers chase me around and sometimes get in fights because i have 'flown' into the next county. also even with a high end machine i get bogged down because of all the high end texture renders it needs to 'try ' and do while up there. it is a beautiful feature but quite unnecessary. i do use the 3 - in -one version but it is a feature of RotC. so here ya go.
again i'm sorry if this is a redundant post. could not find the answer. over all Sim settlements is a MUST have mod series, so good job there. please help. thanks

Try Refresh city from city planners desk.

Try Rebuild Local date for city holotape Tools>ConFig tools.

you can also increase teh build budget in the tools menu

I want someone to build the cities for me, I can only select companions. Is there a way to just have a settler do it instead? Or can I make a robot and make him do it for me?

You could try some of teh leader packs ,they turn named settlers into leaders.
also you can turn teh leaders off

Normal settlers and built robots cannot be used as they are not unique

It depends on your system, many players can have them all at level 3 .
if you are unsure how much your pc can handle just build 2 or 3 at a time and use manual upgrade, and make a lot of saves before you add more.

agreed, depends on how strong your system is and if you have a lot of high detail texture mods installed.

My Supply lines keep getting canceled when my automatron provisioners get dragged into doing other tasks after settlement upgrades. Is there a fix for this?

Use this mod instead of conventional Supply Lines. Works Great
Sim Settlements - IDEK's Logistics Station
I've only had it reassign a settler away if there's low food and a farming plot open or if defence is low and there's martial plots open.

When Deacon gets assigned to Oberland station, he causes Railroad Agents to spawn, which kinda is nice, if they would not attack the Settlers of Oberland Station.

on a small sidenote: ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR MODS

Make sure you are fully up to date with the mods.

Do you have any mods that change the railroad?

      Are you using Conqueror ?

So I've spent a good while searching the Wiki, looking at the videos, and reading in the forum here... not finding an answer so here we go: just trying to find out how to modify the settlements once they're at level 3 "completed". I want to add artillery or just delete some of the more ridiculous items from the completed settlements. Each settlement says 'nothing more can be built...' I've experimented turning on/off build limit etc. Tried scrapping things in the settlement after dismissing the leader, but the build limit seems to still be at max, and I can't add anything new. I've also used Performance Options to turn off most of the resource-intensive features -- was a bit disappointed at having to do that, due to a CTD issue with one of the more complicated settlements, considering I have a very high-end, newer PC gaming rig.

Anyway so in summary, I'm just trying to figure out how/if I can modify the settlements once RotC has them at level 3...

Thanks for the mod though, I don't mean to sound at all unappreciative! I was about ready to quit F4 due to the grindy nature of creating/maintaining the settlements. I am a software developer/project manager IRL and have a definite appreciation of how much work is going into this on you and your team's part...it's staggering really.

try the increase build limit option then recalculate.

you should be able to scrap stuff. but best to use place everywhere scrapping feature and not a scrap mod.

Hello, wondered if the people will eventually build artillery or is that something I have to do myself?
    P. S. Great mod, keep up the good work.

is the donation only for junk items? or is it also for caps?
i tried putting stuff there but it just goes back to my inventory, like food and crops.

There is a limit on how much donated food and water a settlement will store, from the top of my head, 3x the population. What you mostly want to donate is junk, stuff you pick up in the Commonwealth you have no use for unless you are a dedicated weapon and armour tinkerer. You will have to donate lots and lots, more with each level. Or rather, you don't have to donate anything, the basic industrial plots (scrapyards) generate junk by themselves, but take a very long time to produce enough. You can/should also donate weapons to increase the defense rating. kinggath made that very simple, any weapon or piece of armour is as good as the next, the most basic pipe pistols will do the job. You can also donate drugs and alcohol which will raise happiness, but to be honest, it's not really worth it. If donating junk gets tiresome you can go into the options and select low involvement, which will immediately fill up the required junk to get to the next level (but you'll still have to wait to fulfil other upgrade requirements).
