Thanks for the support everyone and please continue to report bugs - I'll be working tirelessly to eliminate them all and make this a smooth gameplay experience - we can and will have automated settlement building!

We're still working on the wiki pages if you prefer to read things, but for those of you who like video guides, the in-depth series is up and will show you how all of the systems work in Rise of the Commonwealth:

If you're not able to activate the City Plan on the desk, be sure you are on version 3.0 of Sim Settlements. Any desks built before the 3.0 patch will need to be picked up and set back down in order to create the updated items.

You'll know if it worked because you'll have a safe on the desk just above the file cabinet drawer.

It's become clear to me that I can't be a one man army on the support front, I had kept up with it until about October of last year, but now things have grown to the point where I need regular help. If you receive a response from damanding or kalimac, they are helping me out to keep up with everything to ensure everyone gets there questions answered and bug reports added to my fix list.

I will still try and pop in periodically to respond to some things personally, but balancing my time between fatherhood, my job, and continuing to develop the mod has become close to impossible without help - hope everyone understands!

Patch 4.0.1 is now available, this shaves off some unnecessary models to reduce the overall file size.

Since the Sim Settlements forums are down, I can't find the answer to my question (and i'm not even sure it's answered there either).

When using City Planner, will newly arriving Settlers build new plots?  Not asking if they'll build on plots I've placed.  Will they build plots without me having to place one for them?  Like if they need a home, will they build a residential plot for themselves?  If the settlement needs food, will they build an agricultural plot?  I couldn't find an answer in the City Planner FAQ (didn't see a question about this).

Yes they will build plots . But some city plans dont have enough plots and will use beds or other work stations/vanilla crops. Most city plans will tho

I was actually hoping for king or you to be the one to reply.  Thanks for the info!!  Now I feel more comfortable slamming down city planners all over the place!

Please don't take this the worng way, I would have been happy to answer the question, but it would have been a pretty big omission for kinggath not to mention this, it's the very point of the ROTC expansion, after all. So for the record I feel I have to mention that on the description page for this expansion the first thing kinggath writes is:

TLDR: Second Official Expansion to Sim Settlements.

Adds the ability to put others in charge of settlements, they will handle
the construction, settlers will move in and place their own plots, beds,
      and other things.

I am wondering what options I have as I believe I scrapped a couple of the houses in Sanctuary using scrap everything and when I started a build by choosing a settlement leader two of the developments are floating when the foundations would have been. The settlement went through the whole rebuild phase as  I told it to scrap and start fresh. Thanks in advance.

Remove Scrap Everything and refresh teh city plan.

SE can cause long term problems as it can break pre combines which affect navigation.
Also removing a mod mid game can cause issues as well.

Best advice is when you next start a new game dont use Scrap Everything.

I've run into an issue where all of a sudden Sanctuary has 999 water...and it goes red...I haven't touched a thing except donating stuff so they can upgrade faster, but their happiness is plummeting because of it

    Help?

999 just means you have negative water, just add a few water pumps and it should return to normal.

Is there an alternate plan or in-game fix for the ctd you get in sanctuary when sanctuary red rocket and abernathy farm are all level 3?

You could try some of these https://simsettlements.com/web/wiki/index.php?title=Performance

Because those 3 settlements are sitting in each others laps ,everything gets loaded and thats why ctds occur :(

Another fix is to scrap one of teh city plans and hope that helps, get rid of red rocket 1st and see if that improves things.
Make sure yo uhave a save you can get back to

In nuka world, the nuka world red rocket does not have a blueprint. Do I need to download it somewhere or has it not been created yet.

How far along do you need to go with the Minutemen in order to have the flag show up as an option on the city planners desk? I have helped Preston and company get to Sanctuary, been sent to Tenpines and cleared out Corvega and have just accepted his offer to lead the Minutemen. However, I do not see a Minutemen flag option. Numerous others from the addons and such, along with the Railroad, Institute and BOS...but no Minute Men. Do I need to do more quests after accepting General? Or should it already be available?

Well, I went back and looked again...for like the fifth time. I had looked verrry carefully to make sure I wasn't somehow sliding right over it or something. But this time, I was looking through slowly and it seemed like it just popped into the list. Maybe it needed a second to be added after becoming General. Or maybe I'm just super blind. I'm just happy I can turn my guard posts into MM posts.

I didn't find an answer for this but that doesn't mean I didn't miss it.

I keep hitting the build limit on the city plans. I go into the menu and use the tools to set the limit to current +25%. Almost immediately, the increase is removed and I am back at the limit. I have to visit each settlement, up the settings, refresh the city, and let it rebuild every time the settlers add things. Is there a way to make these settings stick?

    good day

it is in anyway revert the city plan?

i know this is a weird question but my computer in fact can't handle RotC, even when i am running in ultra (2015 hardware), and for that reason i want to put manually the plots and plan my settlements

other thing i know there is a mod for sim settlements that allow you to create a industrial plot for signing caravans routes, but it is possible for the RotC to incorporate this functionality in the city plan?, is not about immersion it is more o logic, if you have a leader in each settlement, they want to "commerce" between them establish something like a silk route for produce and commerce. just a thought.

There is an option in the holotape (under tools) to blow up a settlement, which should revert it back to vanilla.

Can't access City Plan on the crafting desk with the 3 in 1 version, even with the normal version and with ROTC on stand alone and Sim Settlement beside.(tried every version)

I can't use the City Plan prompt! Nothing happen when clicking that blue print... And yes I have the very last version of Sim Settlement and re-downloaded/instaled them like 5 times already.

I watched the video and I did exactly what is indicated.
(the only thing I'm noticing that is different is my desk is reversed, the furniture are placed on the other side but I guess it doesn't matter and the asset has just been fliped in recent update.)

Mysterious, let's hope the manual install fixes it. Only thing I can note is that you can build the desk with just the base mod and use some of its functionality (like assign a leader), but you wouldn't have city plans. But it looks like you have that covered.
