I replaced them.
Use JPEXS: You have to go into "Sprites". "Define Sprite (72: ScopeMenu)" is the place to look at. Its basically a timeline and every frame is a new scope. "PlaceObject" is the graphics that is used, which some scopes using several graphics to build the GUI. The characterID (right window) is the Shape ID. So to edit the scope you change the characterID and maybe delete other "PlaceObject" items (you could also set them to an empty shape, which is probably the better aproach.) Make sure you change the other parameters aswell, or the graphics might get messed up.
Reason why I was asking is that I prefer the mil dot reticle, but when I extracted it and imported it the size / ratio was all messed up.
You don't have to edit any file other than an esp to make all scopes look the same. I believe the setting is in zoom data, you can pick what scope you want. You have to pick one of the vanilla scopes, however. If somebody wanted to take the time, they could even make multiples of the same scope so you could pick what reticle you wanted at the weapon workbench.

I gotta second this pal, you really should see the rim of the scope when you're using a Sniper Rifle. Personally I'm waiting for some genius to port over Optics of New Vegas.
Agreed with this two. If you can edit swf then simply can draw a circle instead of solid black box. May be it will be better if out of rim picture will be half darkened (half transparent black box), or blured. Best option would be if picture out of rim will be unzoomed, but i think it's not posible with creation engine.
I agree too, so far no decent mod scopes but I praise the effort. Hoping for NV type of optics, the vanilla are so hideous there is no even difference between ballistic weapons and laser ones. Sometimes I wonder why they are so lazy and shows no imaginations for what concern the little details.
I would like to have a decent scope myself. The ones used in the STALKER games are quite awesome. Unfortunately it seems to be impossible to import .svg files with JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler. Importing normal images works, but these do not scale, so things will probably get messed up. (Judging from the overall widescreen support this game has.) Also, the whole screen gets zoomed in, so drawing the end of a scope in the middle the screen would look quite strange. Guess we'll have to wait for the GECK and the F4SE, or someone who knows more about Scaleform, to get some awesome scopes.
REQUEST: Would it be possible for you to replace the crosshair-style on the other scopes with the one that the short scope uses? The simple cross is excellent, but I find all the other ones to be very poor indeed... they have annoyed me from the very start of the game.
Bonus points if you make make a version with and without scope shadow that does that
I assume that it should be possible to do something along these lines by mostly just replacing some assets with already existing ones from the short-scope, so I hope I'm not asking for too much
Added these versions. Recon scope is slightly different in the version with shadows, as the actual aiming reticle also has an outline...which got replaced when i changed it.
Now if only you can remove the ridiculous "Radial Blur" that accompanies night vision.. because we all now that for some reason having better night vision means you have "Blurry" vision..
It what makes the night vision perk the WORST perk in the game...

Thanks.
Does this remove the initial black when first scoping in?
Thanks

I didn't realize there was a fix for the problems with ScopeMenu, great work.

This is just a simple fix until we get the GECK.
