Hmmmm it seems that this mod and the setting didnt work for my PC and game... it only made the workshop mode more stuttery especially when i point the cursor to a selectable item. But thank you for making this mod tho, i noticed it works on a lot of people. I guess its just my luck lol
I've had a lot of bs stutter and fps drop which really ruins a lot in general. I still had fBlendSplitDirShadow and iMaxDesired at defualt or close to default. I copied your numbers and it made a decent difference. Thanks a bunch!
fBlendSplitDirShadow=700.0000 this option didn't exist on my iniprefs, so i just put added the line in and i think it made my game run worse, but the other one worked better as i could lower that even further, maybe it's not completly fixed my fps in all areas as downtown boston is still a shit.hole for fps going down to less than 25fps on avrage.
i almost wish there was a mod that blew up that section of the city to the point where the assets didn't need to be there, and be just a giant open crater hole instead, maybe by then my fps will jump right back up to 70 where i had it in most other areas of the game lol.
I have a 15 y.o. pc and I can't say enough about this mod and the two others that can go with it. It raised my fps, got rid of the unnecessary clutter, (but left enough for scrapping...lol). It raised my fps to 55-75fps. Perfect for my "Olde, decrepit cpu...lol Thanks!
I just so happen to see this comment. Back when I uploaded this I had a pretty s#*! computer too. If you happen to be on AMD gpu then you could also google "Fallout4 Vulkan". This could probably boost you to the 120-144 range in Fallout4 and all the bethesda engines really.
fo4 has a problem with poly count related draw call bottleneck in dense areas. object culling does not work properly and so everything like not adding mods with complex meshes in dense areas will at least not increase complexity or high poly count and will help to cope with stutter and draw call related overload. reducing some clutter mesh complexity in dense areas will also help. mods removing insignificant clutter would help if they reduce the mesh complexity to zero in dense ares. in reality some reduce complexity in the wasteland which is not a cure for the cities which need the reduction. the problem is not hardware but gameengine and dx11 draw call handling.
I have a heavily modded setup on my PC that is causing my FPS issues, mainly stuttering while turning in crowded settlements. Do you think this fix would help my situation? I don't have low-end specs and I was wondering if these tweaks would help me out at all.
dude you are a legend! i have the rx570 and almost below 30 fps in cities! which is ridiculous! a horrible port! thx mate the game is much smoother now
i have a shitty cpu (Xeon E5462) and it's probably why i'm getting horrible fps honestly. but in my defense most games just lowering cpu intensive settings gets me 45+ fps! i'm not asking for 60 fps with 10 yrs old cpu d: fallout 4 has the worst performance ever comapred to other better looking triple A games! i'm getting r5 2600 soon, though! can finally enjoy my rx570 much much better! great card by the way for it's price
Guys, let me tell you a story about how I went from 30 fps near GN to 50-55 fps. Not so long ago (2 months) I updated my rig from Phenom 965 3.4Ghz+7870 2GB+8GB RAM to Ryzen 1200 3.7Ghz+1050ti+8GB. I changed every part except HDD. And I tried to run clean Fallout in Downtown. Usually, I check the performance near the swan or near the entrance to GN. And it's played twice as better in terms of FPS (from 25-30 to 50-60 in Boston). BUT HEAR ME OUT! I was so happy that I run my modded FO4 and that was the same 25-30 FPS in the same zones! No difference whatsoever. After I checked my mods, I found out that mods for the workshop were the problem ones. I disable all of them (not so much, maybe 10), and then it runs as smooth as the clear game. After I turn them on again, one by one, they took around 3-5 fps each. Mainly in Downtown.
I might try this out, I always wondered why my PC struggles despite the fact that my hardware can easily run the game with 150+ mods, at least 15 or so add things into the workshop. I think i also now know why Bunker Hill tanks my performance.
The funny part is, even with top of the line comps, this game still stutters like mad. I have an Alien 17 r4 with a 7700 HQ, gtx 1070, and this thing STILL drops my FPS when I'm running around boston or near DC. Beth should really just optimize the graphics and rendering already XD.
