This contains information on how to achieve better FPS on low end CPUs, specifically for people experiencing bottlenecking like me.

Tired of dropped FPS outside of good neighbor, or even in diamond city? Like your game to look nice, but don't like the framerate or constant stuttering? I have a few tricks that may help with that.

1) Open your documents folder and go to My Games then Fallout4.

2) Open Fallout4Prefs.ini  with notepad.

3) Search for then set the following;

fBlendSplitDirShadow=700.0000
[This will determine the distance high quality shadows are rendered. If too low you will see higher quality shadows drawn as u move closer to things]
iMaxDesired=550
[This is the amount of particles that can me seen. You can lower this if need be]

4) Download the following mods; (Please Like and Endorse these mods)

5) Appropriately set settings for your computer.  (these are my settings, AMD FX 8320 oc 4.22ghz with an R9 380)

6)  Open your AMD/Nvida software and limit your FPS to 37-40 (if you have very bad PC then go down to 30)

(Here is a picture of my Radeon settings for Fallout4)

If you don't know how to open your GPU driver software, or if you even have it. Google your GPU brand and look up drivers for your Graphics Card. There should be a software link included or automatically installed when updating. There is also other programs you can use to limit the FPS of games. I've noticed when I do not have my FPS capped at a lower number my game will drastically go from 25fps to 50fps which makes the game appear to be stuttering. So my solution was to lower the FPS cap so that it doesn't go higher than 40. This prevents the game from looking like it's stuttering when running or fighting.
