    In case this helps anyone, MaxNifStrings.ini is located here (adjust for whichever version of max):

    %localappdata%\Autodesk\3dsMax\2013 - 64bit\ENU\en-US\plugcfg\

    Just copy and paste that into a file explorer address bar.
