Are you still working on this because, in order to add textures on this with substance painter, you need to get the UV maps done. Your blender file is missing UV map coordination so its not possible to import it over to substance painter.

I barely know how to use blender and this is only the third thing I've created with the program.

If you could fix the problems with it and then send the file back to me, that you be fantastic!

yea I am new too, I found a way to UV map the handle and everything else as well, you have to switch to object mode and right click on the handle then switch to edit mode; hit A to select all, CTRL + E, Mark Seam, hit U then Unwrap (you can see the UV parts with shift 10), then you can export the file as FBX and open it on substance painter. You can do this with every other part of the gun individually but I don't know how to put it all together in substance painter. So yeah, your model works fine, just need the expertise to put it all together.

If you are going to try to import a blender file to substance painter, you need to first export the file from blender as FBX (and make sure to check the "Selected Objects" box). Then you need to go on substance painter and make a new file, select Mesh to the FBX file you exported and then click okay. That should do it.

i recommend looking into Substance painter if youre looking to texture it.

Also, making UV maps ready for texturing should be done trough Blender as well, if you havent already.

How do I access the substance painter in Blender?

And is it possible to port textures applied with that over to Blender-created items in Fallout 4 in-game?

      Thanks!

If anyone knows how to turn this into an in-game weapon, please send me a PM.

You should put this in the "Modders Resource and Tutorials" category rather than the Weapons category.
