In the first step you say to "Load a previously created slider set for editing". This is from Data/Tools/BodySlide/SliderSets right? That's where all the slider sets are, right?

So we load that and follow the steps to copy the bone weights from the physics body into it, then save it as a project. And then the tutorial ends, and we've never even loaded an outfit(!)

    I'm confused.

So, now in BodySlider I see my new project listed under 'Outfit/Body' pull-down menu, but how do we use it to convert an outfit to have physics?

Yes, that is from the file path you describe.

You choose the .osp file and open it in Outfitstudio, you should see the outfit now with all the meshes.
When you go to save it the file paths from the loaded outfit should be displayed, you should rename
them as described in the tutorial so as to not overwrite the original.

This tutorial was written for an older version of Bodyslide, you can now alternatively choose an outfit
in Bodyslide and then choose "open current project in outfitstudio", middle top button.

Both ways should get you an existing outfit into Outfitstudio that you can then edit.

Okay, thanks, I figured it out. I wasn't able to get physics working however. It might have something to do with the outfit I first chose to try and do, as it uses different changeable parts, a base suit, then an optional inner mesh, or a bra, and so on.

I wanted to get the base suit with the metal inner mesh both with breast physics, but for some reason even the just the base suit alone wouldn't physics with the bones weights copied in. This was the outfit, if you were curious: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20950

The base suit also has two meshes in it, I'm not sure why, maybe that's part of my trouble, I still have a lot to learn.
      Thanks

Yeah, that outfit has parts in it that cannot be converted since they already have cloth
physics, namely the ones that use the skirt.

All the other parts are fine, just look in Bodyslide which parts have anything covering the breasts
and do not have the skirt, then you convert those.

I would suggest to start with an outfit/outfit part (like from Easy Girl), that has only footwear and
the body just to see if this works at all for you.

You can also, if you have an updated game (unlike me, I refuse to let Bethesda break what I have), try
a mod called CBP where you don't have to do anything, that mod just adds physics.
But you need a newer version of F4SE for that.
