Could you perhaps make a SMALLER (physical) sized version or alter the original?
After testing, this generator is too tall to stand inside standard settlement buildings, which seriously hampers its utility :/
a shorter reactor, especially if you used it with the mod that adds power connectors that can pass through walls, you'd get great combination of believable RP and utility. Few settlements need the 100 power of the big fusion reactor, so this one is a nice compromise
Ok, I made a version that's at 7/10 scale - that's about as small as I can make it without truly breaking my brain. I test-fitted it into a standard 128x128 shack box (as you can see in the pictures), and it did fit, but it's a little funky and tends to clip through the floor - you may have to fuss with it a bit in order to make it fit into your rooms.
I'm working on making an AiO version of the mod that's got all 7 variants of the reactor in one esp - it's 1000% immersion-breaking, but if you're building crazy custom settlements to share then I can see you possibly wanting some options.
Create and deploy the generator, even if it clips into walls or objects. Press the ~ key to bring up the console, click on the generator, make sure its name is highlighted when you selected it (Better Console - F4SE mod is great for such info on objects when selected for console), and then type the following command: setscale 0.5
This will make the generator to be 50% of its usual size. You can also adjust the scaling to a different value if needed.
There's one of these reactors broken open underneath the Red Rocket station outside of Sanctuary, and you can see that it's mostly a boiler unit for what looks like a rack of Fusion Cores.
If I get some time I'll make it like you asked, but it likely won't be tonight.
annnnd I needed the 500 unit generator like now This going to make powering My settlements a breeze and will be used in My Settlement Blueprint Series I am putting together.
Nicely done! I actually tried this with the exact same set of assets some time back, but I couldn't make it work. Would you be willing to spill the beans on how you moved the collision data from one .nif to another? I was never able to get that to work and I'd like to make that work for some settlement objects I'm working on.
I used the CK to make an SCOL out of the full set of parts, and then let it recompile the nif and save it to a BA2. After that I just exported the new nif from the BA2 and renamed it to something legible, and pointed the activator to use the new nif instead of the gobbledygook one that the esp had saved to.
If you don't want to have to worry about balance, you could make the 100 power recipe identical to the Wasteland Workshop 100 power nuclear generator, so you can just say "if it's unbalanced, that's Bethesda's fault, not mine." Requires Science 4 Aluminum (25) Copper (20) Crystal ( Gears (12) Nuclear material (12) Rubber (2) Screw (10)
I like the old look, assume it does not have the same building skills requirements, maybe older tech so 50 is fine. Lorenzo been down there a long time so would expect a larger less efficient gen?
I think it would be fun then if you overload it “turns red in workshop mode” it would then explode with the force of a mini-nuke in the middle of your settlement. mortal settlers and all.
Sorry, I got carried-away.
Looks great. Power level is fine whatever you decide.
I'm with you on this, it IS nuclear power after-all. However, what are people building in their settlements that sucks up all this power? When I'm building a settlement I have more problems getting power where I need it than I do having enough power itself. I don't think I've ever ran out of power just by placing even a single one of the blue Wasteland Workshop 100 power nuclear generators. Hell, I bet I've never even used 50. I guess some of the really big water purifiers use a decent amount, but outside of that, what do turrets use, a maximum of 2 each?
Usually I wind up with 200-300 or more power in a decent sized settlement by using those small SOE generators, just so I don't have to run wire all over Hell's half-acre.
Ok, a pair of new versions are uploaded - one gives 100 power as requested, and a super-cheaty 500 power version. Only install one version at a time, or they will conflict.

mod makers can cause their items to be not so useful by not testing settlement items to see if they fit inside or work with the basic layouts, alas.

Would you consider a version with half of the requirements of the fusion generator and name it Fission generator? It looks kinda fissiony to me.

Thanks in advance for indulging me.
