Hi - this seems like a really cool mod that I'd like to include in my load order. I was wondering, would it be possible to inject spears into level lists? I think it would be cool if super mutants could spawn with legendary spears. trying to figure out how to make it work..

Adding a weapon to leveled lists is fairly easy in FO4Edit or the Creation Kit, but you risk conflicts with other mods that edit the same lists.  Adding via script, aka "injecting" is much more compatible but not something I've ever learned to do.

Tested in VR and it works. First trip out I smacked a yao guai and got my face ripped off... couldn't be happier.

in order for the electricity to work, the end of the wire should be going to the point, or the blade in the place of contact with the enemy...

    >fairly light
These things probably weighed no more than 4 lbs, irl.
Bethesda's just retarded and makes everything weigh an ungodly amount.

Also, could you please make one for their boar spears, too? (Weighing ~6 lbs)

I'm pretty sure the weight in FO4 isn't pounds, just "encumbrance." That's why large objects can "weigh" more than they should. A rifle is much more awkward to carry than a more compact object of equal weight.

I'll see about adding boar spears to my next mod. I just started figuring out Nifskope, so I'm having a lot of fun playing with it and intend to make a "battleaxe" mod for the sledgehammer, as well as play around with the pool cue and maybe the harpoon.

Boar spears sound like fun. If those work out could you consider a thrown version? I miss the spears from New Vegas. They may have 'weighed' a bit much but were really fun.

In the game there are weights and I have noticed the 5 pound weight does weigh...5.
So technically it does mean pound but some of the items just don't add up with that actual line of thinking. Not helpful info I know but, food for thought no?

You should totally try it with the Board animations. If I remember right, there was actually an impale kill move with it.

I checked, and the board and sledgehammer use the same animations, apparently. Not sure how it chooses kill moves differently, but the animation set is the same

very nice, but I wouldn't call it a spear. it's more like a polearm :)

Hewing Spear is actually an old name for it but the original name is Atgeir.

I did mention it was "the first medieval polearm." And the main reason I went with "hewing spear" for the name, besides it being awesome, is that it has "spear" in it so people who have been craving a spear in FO4 like I have can find it with a quick search.

fair enough, just felt the need to point it out
The Atgeir from Njals Saga is called "hillebard" or "spjutyxa" (spear-axe) in swedish, that's why "hewing spear" didn't ring any bells inside my cranium

Looks like a good mod for my Grognak char, though he has the two axes. I am also looking at your other mods that limit guns for a melee play thru.
