I upgraded to 4.0 and now my game is crashing when I attempt to load an old save file.

This is a specific issue with the game engine and was a bug introduced with the 1.3 patch.
If mods are missing when you go to load a save game it is supposed to ask you if you want to load with them in a dialogue box, however, sometimes the name of the missing mod causes the game to crash instead of displaying the box. I had considerable issues with this when I made the 4.0 update and I finally got a naming convention that will not cause this issue when you uninstall it.
That doesn't help you if you already have this issue so here are a few options: Find the name of your save game file in you My Documents/My Games folder and find the save you are trying to load (Something like this: Quicksave0_2CC7C5A5_54686F6D617320416E646572736F6E_Vault111Cryo_000037_20160330012432_1_2) copy the name somewhere you can read it and leave out the ".fos" Afterwards load the game and open the console (` key by default) and type in. Load <SaveFileName> without the <> around it. This will load the game without checking for the files. Once in the game make a new save and the issue is resolved.
Reload whatever mods you had before and disable them one at a time, creating a new save each time, until there are no more issues.
My Armor/Weapons aren't changing their tags or names after the update.

rop the item on the ground and pick it up. If that doesn't work then drop it on the ground, open the workshop and store it in the workshop, should be fixed when you grab it out of there.
Going near the Mechanist's Lair after completing the DLC is causing my game to crash.

This is an issue with the new icon added on the HUD, DEF_HUD doesn't understand it and crashes. You can bypass that with this mod by th1nk here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11218/
Tukster has been very kind to make a patch for Modern Firearms if you use that mod.
If anyone else develops any other compatibility patches let me know and I'll link them as well, I don't use a ton of item mods so I don't have a ton of patches and community help is always great!
I was having the same issues, couldn't find any fix or workaround. I decided to try to uninstall DEF_UI and Bhaal's Better Sorting to see if that would work. So far that seems to have fixed my issues on my current save.
Is there a patch for the Munitions mod somewhere? Ammo from it doesnt go into the ammo tab of the pipboy inventory and I only see it whfn transfering to and from containers.
Does this simply (A) rename items from (for example) "stimpak" to "[chem] stimpak" so that they're listed in inventories based on item type?
Or does it actually (B) actively "sort" them? Ex: Place a stimpak, nuka shirt, and 10mm pistol in one box, the stimpak is moved to a "chems," the shirt is moved to a box called "clothing," and the gun is moved to a box called "weapons."
If the former (A) and not the latter (B), and since it seems like all mods called "sorting" do the former, then what do you call the latter that doesn't get mistaken for the former? What do you call a mod that actively moves items based on criteria so that it doesn't get confused for a mod that simply renames them?
And for the record, I know that Contraptions sorters are supposed to do this (Power > Manufacturing > Miscellaneous > Sorter) but they're far too buggy to be of any use. Those conveyor belt sorters often eject items not at the sorter's own outputs where they're supposed to, but at some random location often many feet away, sometimes even embedded in the ground. Everyone I've asked about this has said "that's simply how Contraptions works, it's just that buggy."
so, i tried to find any information about the [v81]wrench, but i dont know what the tag is, where to change it, and why wrenches need to be un scrapable. If anyone can help me, or point me in the direction of what to do.
May I request tags for weapons and armour? If you don't want to make it, how would I go about making them myself? I would really like my weapons and armours to have icons when using DEF_UI. :)

Find "DEF_INV_TAGS.xml" in Bhaals sorting installation folder and edit with any text editor (notepad is perfect). 3. Add <tag icon='XXX' keyword='YYY' hidetag='true'/>
XXX - exact icon name from settings.exe YYY - keyword of your choice (! It's case sensitive so if you put it like this "yYy" you will have to tag item in the game the same way "yYy" !)
Doesn't seem to work for dynamically named weapons\armor. For example Deliverer does gets an icon since no matter what mods you install it still retains its original name. Generic weapons don't. Hence no icon. I guess for that to work one would need to use awkcr + compatible sorter mod. Update: Nevermind. It does work. Just have to removed items in question from inventory and pick up back. Like sticky post suggests.
I still got that annoying sorting bug: -Grenades are not split up from the weapons. -Same issue with chems and meds, they're all in the food section. -Also the last two registers with the cube and ammo is empty. Installed Def_UI before and let this mod overwrite doesn't work. Please help !
Can this mod make it so all of my armor is together even if it's from different sets? Right now, my armor is spread out all over my inventory and it's annoying to have to scroll through it just to find all the pieces I want to wear.
EDIT: The collapsible categories aren't showing up in the Pip-Boy at all.
EDIT 2: The collapsible categories are working in Aid fine, Junk kind of, but not at all in Armor or Weapons which is why I even installed. It's really frustrating basically having two mods that don't function as they should. I've tried entirely reinstalling both, installing them in different orders, choosing different options, everything I could think of. None of it seems to work.
Final EDIT: Seems that it *mostly* works now. Modified armors and any guns don't seem to get categories as well as Switchblades which now don't stack.
