To any and all other modders that hold experience with the Creation Kit, I hold a request for one of you few.
In a future update, I would like to add in a Quest listing that will allow Elder Maxson to use his Power Armor ONLY during the Brotherhood quest-lines of Liberty Reprimed, and Ad Victorium - similar to how Elder Maxson uses his Power Armor in the final quest of the Institute Questline.
For some reason I have Star Paladins in Fallout 4 with T-60 Power Knight Power Armor instead. Though I really wish I could use this mod to fix that but can't because, this requires another mod.
Why do people insist on the Brotherhood using other Power Armor? Is it really that hard to believe that they actually became capable of manufacturing T-60 Power Armor and Vertibirds after establishing themselves on the Eastcoast and defeating the Enclave and taking all of their technology? The Eastcoast Bos is vastly superior to the Westcoast BoS. Westcoast are a small Taliban Hiding inside Bunkers from the NCR using anything they can Salvage. The Eastcoast BoS however has it's own Capital City and actively recruits people into a big army and is able to manufacture and maintain its own equipment and also Vertibirds and Airships.
By the end of New Vegas the West Coast Brotherhood was becoming more emboldened and started to become more of a force to be reckoned with after the Courier's intervention. Albeit still no where to the level of the NCR, but they were able to sustain themselves. Not to mention they finally started to recruit (albeit in low numbers) wastelanders into their ranks. Also what would be easier? Manufacturing an entirely new set of resource expensive Power Armour and vertibirds (let's not forget how quickly those vertibirds get shot down as well which I imagine would make a dent lol) or raiding old military caches and using the vast amounts of vehicles and T-51 and T-45 suits that were readily available? Don't forget the West Coast BoS was the original faction to manufacture those airships and send them out which is the only reason why the East Coast BoS even has one as well as the plans in the first place. Although I can still see them manufacturing power armour, vertibirds and what not though.
Also let's be honest, the T-51 was the pinnacle of armour before the Great War plus it looks cool, the T-60 looks dumb af imo lol
Because Bethesda makes good modding playgrounds and we want to make our own version of the wasteland.
Pretty sure I read somewhere that they do have the means to produce their own equipment, not just rely on salvaged gear. So everyone wearing T-60 makes sense if that's true. But why only T-60? Surely they could produce T-45 since it'd be cheaper to make or T-51 since it's meant to be just as good/better? (depending on what you read.) And since T-60 the second best PA in the base game, don't you think getting some thrown at you when the Prydwen shows up is a bit rediculous? Or think how easy/common it is to loot when the Brotherhood are in town. T-60 just doesn't feel "special" in any way. It's just "Here's your tin suit, go fight some undesirables." I like the PA system in FO4 more than I do in any other FO, but the way it's just thrown at you both at the start and when the Brotherhood roll in, there's just no "earning" your way to the good stuff.
Personally, I don't mind finding PA in the open world, I just don't wanna find T-60/X-01 suits by the time I'm rescuing Nick, and I'd like some variety in what people wear. BoS only wears T-60, Atom Cats only wear T-60, and other than that, it's levelled PA for the most part. Soon as you go beyond about level 20, you no longer find T-45/51 pieces. It's just all T-60/X-01. Having T-60/X-01 spawn on frames when you start getting into the level 20's would've been fine if FO4 had the same levelling system as the older games, where 20/30 was max (FO3/FNV respectively, DLC's increase that to 30/50 respectively) makes sense due to them being lower level games. But with FO4 not having a max level limit, being able to get almost the best gear in the game after a few hours of play time (rush through the main story, BoS will show up in a couple hours and give you free T-60) is just bad from a players perspective. Maybe if they gave you the armour at a later point (you know the point I'm referring to, no spoilers though) it would lead to the player feeling as if they'd earned it for their service to the Brotherhood.
tl;dr I wanna see/be able to loot more kinds of PA for more of my playthrough, rather than just T-60 that EVERY Brotherhood PA member drops, basically.
I'd imagine they'd be willing to use other power armor when need be. Once, I saw a BoS Knight use the Minutemen Genreal's power armor during battle (after the Knight lost access to his own power armor). If the General had died, the Kight probably would have taken the Minutemen power armor back to the Brotherhood.
Point is: I'd think the BoS would scavenge power armor when the opportunity presented itself. Still, you have a point House1229. It's likely the Brotherhood can manufacture power armor and vertibirds. There are more advanced power armor models (such as the X-01 & 2), but perhaps the T-60 is easier to manufacture and/or maintain.
YES, YES it is hard to believe. Lyons was send east with what? Mostly with t-45s and very few t-51s and now EVERYONE has a t-60? what is an t-60 even? where does it come from, why is there no lore behind it, except a loading screen. Not everyone playing Fo4 is a braindead NPC consuming game after game like its some potato chips.
I can't help but think of this one saying. Something about variety and spice. Not that it matters now though, since this mod's just been turned back into T-60 central like vanilla.
In opposite to BPAO 1.0 bug where everyone is wearing rusty T-45, it appears that in BPAO 2.0 every one is wearing T-60 (with adequate rank insigna tho)
So it does seem to work... mostly... I've not seen anyone with T-51 and only one knight wearing T-45. Not sure why that part of the mods not working as intended.
Unfortunately, the brotherhood only use t-45 (with the exception of scripted members like danse and maxson) when I have this installed. I do have PATTP installed with its patch, so that may be causing it.
I've been looking around for a mod that makes the Brotherhood's power armor not look so damn rusty and unmaintained. Makes sense that what you find out in the wastes is rusty, but these guys actually take care of their stuff.
Anyway, if you just want the paints and materials without dealing with the outdated requirements or compatibility issues, here's what you can do:
1. Download and install as you normally would
2. Recommend you delete the meshes folder, all this is is overwriting the combat armor and I don't think it's worth it for the headache that causes with body mods like CBBE
3. Delete the .esp. Now you're just left with a textures and materials folder.
(Optionally) delete the Textures/Armor folder if you're not a fan of the texture changes to the knight and combat armor textures.
Works great for me. Since it's just textures there's zero compatibility issues, and can be done mid-game and uninstalled at any time if you prefer another look.
Thank you lewisroantree, these paints are perfect.
Would it really be that much to ask that you change your description? It's a lot of false advertising now that T-60 is just standard issue again. There's really no overhaul to speak of anymore.
I downloaded this after the first power armor overhaul didn't work cuz the emblems weren't showing but this mod just replaces all of them with T-60 does anyone know how to implement the other amors with the paintjobs intact
