I just wanted something big to build off of and didn't really look at the pics too much, when I tell u I laughed so hard at the defensive stat of this settlement that i got a text from my neighbor asking if my family was okay lmaooo.
Has anyone else experienced a situation wherein the import of the blueprint hangs at around 96%? According to the onscreen popup, it's stuck on a Brahmin...
Import hangs are not due to the blueprint specifically. Unfortunately it could be a number of things, but typically can be tracked down to a specific mod you are using. As for which one I couldn't say. The blueprint uses 100% vanilla (+dlc) assets. I would guess at any mod that modifies the actual settlement, or creatures.
Ha.. disregard this comment. The one time I don't read previous comments, I stick my foot in my mouth. I thought the Starlight Tidings was a mistake. I stand corrected! :-)
Using most of his blueprints this play-through. Most have a very similar design feel to them. That can be a good thing as you would tend to build in a similar style I would think. I like it anyway. I don't understand why he always massively goes over-board on water-power and defense. I mean maybe its been awhile since I played vanilla but 200 defense was usually my target and that was double what the game counts if you don't help defend a settlement in vanilla. While I shot for 200 he has builds with over 800.. it's crazy. Small settlements with over 100 water etc.. I usually delete half the turrets he places and half the water and still have over-kill. That said I like his builds. First they are mod free (mostly) and second they have a semi-clean look. Best have a decent PC if your using all of his though.I mean the little Red Rocket had over 3k items in it hehe.
I use this for all my playthroughs. It really love the layout. Thanks!
Couple of things. First, the railings around the house top turrets actually block most of the turret fire, lol. I always remove them. Second, I get 2 brahmin (brought in by troughs) but they always ignore the damned troughs and gather near the workstation, no matter where I place them. Really frustrating. It's like there is something there they are trying to get to. I turned collision off to see if there was something underground, but there wasn't. I'm wondering if there is some kind of invisible marker perhaps. Very odd lol.
Both the above points have been the same with different playthroughs and installations.
Anyway. Appreciate the effort that went into this.
I like this settlement so far though there are a couple things that bug me besides it taking almost 2 hours to import, every door in this import has 2, sometimes 4 doors when you try opening them so you literally have to open the "door" 2-4 times to be able to actually go through them. Secondly I guess would mostly be a question, why did you build around the existing houses, the warehouses I understand, and not just delete the existing houses, esp since you went through the trouble of installing inner walls on all the existing walls.
You're completely correct, after reloading an earlier save and reimporting it seems that for some reason my save was importing it twice, you just beat me to correcting my question.
As for the building over the existing structures, it was just a question and I understand everyone has their own style. I do really like this one though. Tried your drive-in one , though it was nice I didn't care for the screen being blocked as I use VOTW. I will be considering your builds for other settlements.
cool, glad you got it sorted out. btw if you don't like the walls *inside* the other walls, they are pretty easy to scrap - you can leave the roof if you want, or remove it as you see fit I made my builds for me, but shared so others can use them as a base build to work from. I actually encourage folks to modify my builds to suit themselves
sorry if my last response seemed kinda short and blunt - suffering from the worst cold I've had in years and a sinus infection on top of it makes thinking hard lol
Oh really... well just about to log into game, the settlement is on it's 48 hour rest period before I can return and check it out. Now I'm curious if there's a prize or something, or are you saying the words are it?

Edit: 3K items is nothing compared to some of my builds which are over 10K

Secondly, I built around the existing houses to get the look I wanted. It was a design choice.

Import this first then build the required items using Sim Settlements. It should work fine.
