This mod destroys Vault 88 precombines. I recommend cleaning that record with xEdit before using this mod.

So I love this mod and its music but I hated the original FO4 sound track to the point that for years I played with the music simply turned off. Now I like the music in this mod, but it feels like its constantly fighting the games original sound track. I'll hear good music one moment, then it'll switch to base game music randomly, then a few seconds later it starts a new modded track, rinse and repeat. I've tried to find some way to remove the base game music but the only mod I found to do that silenced the mod's music too. Anybody have any ideas or mods they know of that may fix this?

FO4 original soundtrack is great, written by highly acclaimed composer Inon Zur. While I think you are crazy for not liking it, to make a replacer- use xedit. It is actually pretty straight forward.

If you REALLY want to remove all the vanilla songs, you need to open the .esp in FO4Edit, then open the "Music Type" category. From there, you will need to go through each and every Music Type listed (the picture is showing MUSzPublic as an example, which is only the music that plays in Diamond City and Goodneighbor) and delete the vanilla options under the "Faded Glory - Soundtrack Expansion.esp" column.

The end result will look like this:

Just be aware this mod doesn't add any combat music as you'll see, so if you delete the tracks in the combat music types, you'll just have no combat music in general. There's also nothing to delete under the Vault88Workshop category since there's no vanilla music that plays specifically in Vault 88. Once you've gone through each music type and made them look like the second image, save the .esp and close out of FO4Edit and you'll be good to go.

Outstanding work. Blends in brilliantly with the original soundtrack in my opinion, and shines better than it in some areas too. Hope you're proud of your work here, you should be. :)

    Hello,

Thank you for the amazing soundtrack. Is it ok if I publish a esl replacer for your mod? Thanks a lot!

I'm getting a heavy breathing sound when at low health. Is there a way to disable that? Other than that I really enjoy this mod

A little review for the mod:

Does every track in this soundscape fit in to every moment of the game? No.
That being said, if you are on the fence about downloading, you definitely should. The moments where the music does not seem to fit are few and far between and have more to do with chance than anything orchestrated. I am 15 hours into a playthrough with this mod and love what it has added to the game. I was sad to learn Bethesda was no longer using Jeremy Soule after the allegations about him became public. I feel like Bethesda games lost that emotional factor that I experienced in Oblivion and Skyrim. This mod does a lot to bring back that emotion. And while the emotion of the music does not always fit the moment you find yourself in, I have a theory this may have more to do with me playing this game for so long and only now introducing new music. It's like watching a movie you've seen dozens of times but now they have changed the soundtrack on you and at first it is somewhat jarring. Except, Pat did really good work on the new score and every time these tracks play, they get a little less jarring and a little more majestic. There are tracks that make you feel hopeful or emotional. Others are somber or downright eerie (which I absolutely love and didn't realize how many moments in this game should have eerie music). It breathes new life into this game for me and I don't think I'd want to play without it now.

Glad I came across this mod, Pat! Good work.

Edit: I am now over 100 hundred hours into this playthrough and would say my initial statement regarding the music not fitting in always is no longer true. It fits perfectly and I lament that I downloaded Atomic Radio and Old World Boston Radio for this playthrough because I never turn them on.

Hello Pat! I've been using this wonderful mod for quite a while now, and my experience has also been wonderful. As a person who cares deeply about music/ambiance when it comes to games, i was so happy to see that there is another person who gets the feelings what the game gives, the same way as i do (I explained it horribly, i know...). Thank you for the great mod you've provided!

I'd also like say, that some of your tracks are missing/totally out of reach in any of your social media accounts. This wonderful mod has 81 tracks, but on your soundcloud account i was able to find only 31 of them. So my question is: Would you be willing to upload the rest of them as well? or Could I/other people upload your missing tracks with very well deserved credits if you'd give your permission?

I'm excited to see your next projects. And wishing you the best of luck!

Thank you for the kind words!
As per a comment below, my SoundCloud profile used to have all 81 tracks, but then the platform changed their terms of service a few years ago and required you to have a premium membership to upload and keep above a certain number of songs.  So half my playlist got unceremoniously cut off the soundtrack by the algorithm.

There are only 31 tracks because that's all my non-premium membership will allow me to put on there.  I plan on finding a solution or paying if I have to, but I will be the one to do that, as I have all the masters and song files on my computer.  I would ask that you not upload anything.
      Thanks!

Are you ineligible for Spotify or do you just prefer not to use that service?

I love it and partially almost hate it. Love it for obvious reasons- it's all well made, incredibly atmospheric and moody and fits the setting and actual gameplay loop, wandering through the wastelands with end, perfectly.
I slightly dislike it for the same reason- original music is really good and even a few tracks in Far Harbor rise to the 'excellent' status, but the main game- its tone and atmosphere, worldbuilding and weight put behind most things are all lacking and were even when F4 came out. This game is often enough goofy, weightless, easy going and to some extent empty, that there's a disconnect between it and elements that aim for more serious, melancholic, somber notes.
Music like that is almost too good for this game and from time to time I wonder if I should disable this mod and (re)play more serious post-apo games like the METRO series, or watch something with a great atmosphere- weirdly enough in a few spots I was thinking about OST from the movie 'HEAT'.
Overall- a fantastic job and if in an alternate reality where another studio would make F5 or New Vegas-like spinoff, they should reach to the creators of this mod, it's that well made.

Obviously- highly recommended, but it will really shine after putting more work into modding- installation of some grungy and moody ENB preset, adding better weathers, some survival mechanics, overhauling weapon and enemy sounds (and textures)- simply elevating the whole game to a level above vanilla Fallout 4.

Great mod! Can the .BA2 archive be unpacked and used as loose files without affecting mod's functionality or Faded - Radium soung merger patch?
    Thanks!

If anyone is curious about this mod, let me assure you, the music fits FLAWLESSLY into the Fallout 4 theme.
I would even say this music is a better fit for the game than the originals.
This mod ADDS to the music playlist, not replaces it completely.
You will NOT be disappointed in this mod, I promise.
This mod will NEVER leave my load order.
