Quick comment for the people complaining that this contradicts canon: In the Fallout timeline, the US wasn't divided up into commonwealths until sometime after World War II, meaning the flag we know, with 50 stars, did canonically exist in the Fallout world. It had been out of use for almost 100 years before the Great War of 2077, though, meaning any found in-game now would likely be the better part of 300 years old, and with how little the people of the wastelands tend to know about history, it wouldn't be too unusual for them not to recognize it.
TL/DR: Flag actually IS canon. Just really old. (Source: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/America )
Also... I could understand asking for a more "lore friendly" version, that looks as weathered as it might for it's age (hint hint?), but if you're complaining just to complain... no one's forcing you to download and use this. (Plus, if you really want to see "lore breaking" just wait until the Creation Kit comes out, and see how many bikini armors and anime outfits show up. Because you KNOW they will...)
LOL, yeah I feel you bro, those bikini armors and gay anime outfits always make me sick. Surely when the Fallout 4 Nexus goes saturated, the site will be covered with full of such things all over from hot files tab to latest files tab, just like Skyrim Nexus today. Plus, I hope they won't bring those kids' Gundam to replace power armors as well. Can't even imagine how a post-apocalypse world will become after such types of mods (post of pre? lol). Of course, of course "download or not is your choice" but it still disgusts me whenever I recall the time I rolls endlessly on the mod list in Skyrim Nexus struggling to find a mod that is truly a mod - not a game/lore changer/breaker!
so un-accurate, bruh, if you dont know s#*! about american geography, america has states, and the number of the stars on the flag are the number of the states, NOW, in fallout, theres 13 states, which is why the flag has 13 stars so this flag, is pretty un-accurate, but hey there's a reason why this flag is made Cuz' Merica, that's why >B)
Funny how the same people saying THIS flag (or any American/Colonial/Confederate flag for that matter) is "inaccurate" and "un-lore-friendly" , are the same people downloading and defending rainbow flags and retextures in Fallout...
We call those people "hypocrites"
Just let people play the game the way they want to, "bruh" .
The people who call this lore breaking are funny, yes the US in the Fallout universe became 13 commonwealths and got rid of the states but just look at the real world and it not hard to imagine that there would have have been people in the Fallout universe that did not like the move to 13 commonwealths, you have some people to this day in the US who believe the constitutional convention was a mistake and that we should have stayed with the articles of confederation, when you consider the evidence from the real life, I am sure in the Fallout universe there would have been some citizens who held the original flag and the 50 states in high regard.
A 51st state has not been added to the Union. Until that changes, a 51st star (while it might look cool) isn't necessary. I do get what you're saying, though. I personally prefer the 50 star flag.
