I have a couple of big mods I'm trying to finish in 2023 and I will post screenshots and more information about those mods when they are closer to release, join my Discord server for more information and to be notified when I release new mods. Simply Better Weather v10.2 & v11.2 have been released for preview.
Most of my mods received a minor update 16/12/2022, the main reason for this update to was to allow you to install multiple versions / options of the mods at the same time so that you can switch between the versions whenever you like. Some files had to be renamed in order to accomplish this but this will not effect your save games. All of my mods can be installed/uninstalled or swapped out at any time without harming your save games. All files are ESL flagged .esp's (except Puddle Remover Plus), these files can edited and sorted by load order but do not use an ESP plugin slot. I am no longer creating ESP or Loose files versions of my mods because there is no performance or compatibility improvements to be gained by using them. FYI: Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition can have up to 253 ESP (Full) and 4096 ESL (Light) plugins installed at the same time.
If you want to say "Thanks" for this mod press the "Endorse" button at the top of the page, it's appreciated.
Normally if you post in my forums asking for help I will go out of my way to help you solve problems, but this isn't my normal mod:
I'm not trying to be rude or condescending to anyone, but if you are here to ask basic "how to" questions, you are using the wrong mod. This mod is not intended to teach you how to make or edit mods and I am not qualified to teach anyone how to make or edit mods. That is why I have made it clear that this mod is intended for Advanced Users Only. The Nexus Forums are full of "How to guides", and in this case Google is your friend. For questions regarding how to edit particular mods such as Vivid and True Storms you should ask in their forums and if necessary contact the Author. If you still need help please send me a PM and if I can answer you question I will.
To keep this forum on topic most "how to" post will be removed as well any question that is answered on the main page. Again this mod is intended for Advance Users Only and this forum is for commenting on and discussing the mod itself.
FYI: For a very nice, simple, safe and fully supported clear weather mod I suggest: Simply Better Weather For multi weather and stormy weather I suggest Vivid or True Storms, SBW can be used with both of these mods giving you the best default and custom weather types available.
For the time being I will not be adding new files to this installer. Although I have been over the installer many times with so many options it is still possible that I have made mistake somewhere. So until this mod has enough comments/downloads/endorsements that I'm confident that everything is working as intended, I will only make bug fixes.
Will you add 'X' weather type? Maybe Currently I have given you the option to swap all default weather types to the popular weather types. There are some weather types you that you cannot swap to, such as misty and overcast weathers simply because judging by some of the larger more popular mods these weather types are not in demand. However if I get enough request I may add them in the future. (No time frames or promises are implied.)
Will you customize 'X' default weather type? Maybe Feel free to post to your request and suggestions, if enough users want that customization I will try to make it. Fair warning though, I'm a "Clear" weather user, I don't want stormy weather of any kind in my game so I have no experience with making stormy weather. So even if I try it might not be worth publishing. Also as I've said above, I want to make sure everything that is already included in the mod is working correctly before adding to it.
Will you add 'X' weather type from another mod? No Using assets from any published mod requires obtaining the Mod Authors permission, and I have no intentions of seeking out those permissions.
Endorsements: Your endorsement is important to Mod Authors, unless you come into our discussion page and make a comment it's the only way we know you appreciate our work. While it's true most of us make our mods for personal use first, we share the ones we think you'll enjoy, and so your endorsements mean a lot to us as individuals and as a team. So "Thank You" for endorsing DIY Weather Replacer.
Tips & Common Sense: Use FO4Edit to easily view the changes made by the mods esp files and check for compatibility. If this mod does not fit your play-style or if you simply don't like it, don't use it, no one is asking you to.
Fair warning people, I wouldn't bother "Tracking" this page right now. It's still a new mod and I'll be tweaking the page here and there over the next week or so, and you'll just be flooded with update notices that aren't actually updates to the mod itself. Unless someone discovers a mistake in the installer or with one of the files I will not be updating the mod anytime soon. So just check back here every week or so for the next couple of months.
Hmmm...wonder if this could be made to rain nuka quantums??????
Just kidding
Great idea to make a custom/make your own weather type mod so peeps can customize it to their liking. And personally I think more mod users need to learn some basics so they understand how rough it can be. Kudos to you my friend.
