    Being the helpful and nice friend of the Drivables that they are, ShadowLiger brought these to our attention for people who'd like
    to have a closer camera view when riding.

    Before you do anything, backup your ini.
    Then, for a closer 3rd person camera view when riding, add (or change if existing) this to your Fallout.ini (or Falloutcustom.ini):
    [camera]
    fVertibirdAutoVanityZoom=350.0000
    fVertibirdVanityModeMaxDist=2000.0000
    fVertibirdVanityModeMinDist=350.0000

    Adjust those numbers to your liking (that's a good setup for the small animals, like the Radstag, but may not be great for the trucks)."

    **Note that this is also linked to Vertibird flight perspective and any of our other drivables.**

    ***While I'll mention it on this page, we do not support ini edits, so please do this at your own risk...and, again, backup your ini before hand.***

    Release the Radstags! =)

    NOTE; If you can't find them in the work shop menu:
    The Stable and Radstags should be in their own category in the main workshop menu, normally far to the right end. If you don't see them (icon is a keychain with a Giddy head), try traveling to the center of another settlement (doesn't have to be a vanilla settlement, but does have to be a fully functional settlement) to kickstart the menu install script.

    Is there a way to adjust the turn radius (i.e., looking left/right) of the first person mode? We have fVertibirdVanityModeMaxDist and fVertibirdVanityModeMinDist for distance. Does there exist a similar value for radius?

    Hey I'm pretty sure someone else has asked but after skimming through I couldn't find it. Does anyone know if there any support for followers. Like I'm sure I can command my followers to kill my stag but I can command them to ride one and dismount like it was power armor. That way I can travel with one follower on a mount and dogmeat trailing behind us.

    Idk if I've commented on this already but, simply give this mod the ability to store the radstag as an item. idk... like a radstag thigh. or ribs like the uhh… irradiated dog ribs mesh model. then whenever you want to use it, just throw the rib like a grenade. basically the same as that one giddyup buttercup mod. This way the radstag isn't constantly running infront of gunfire during combat or constantly pushing your character while fighting. either that or allow it to assist in combat which will be iffy since it'll be a companion as well like dog meat -- and the thing is, not many indoor buildings are big enough for the radstag AND you during fights.....

    Outside of that, I still think this is a good mod whenever you're wantin to explore on the back of somethin or need a quick method of transportation in early game

      It would be a cool feature but I would find it incredibly unimmersive. It does suck when you have to but I often find myself needing to abandon my Stag at certain points. I tend to just kill it for the meat when I have to. It does make it harder to bond with these creatures but they are easy to tame and in the setting I've built for myself in Fallout, my stag is sometimes more useful for its meat and skin than as a ride. Though an optional patch definitely couldn't hurt.

    Please consider getting this mod to work in VR! Tried to get it working in VR and was able to mount the radstag and only go forward and backward and also fell through the bottom of the map often and couldn’t turn or access the pipboy , doesn’t need to have any motion control Just regular game pad control scheme for oculus buttons and sticks , which is essentially formatted as a game pad the is split in two. The HMD already worked fine to look around. But problematic issues were I couldn’t control turning with the sticks and the camera bob and camera movements were a bit nauseating if you could just remove all forced camera movements and remove the radstag from roaming on its own and allow controls for turning and somehow keep the player from falling through the bottom floor of the map this mod could be functional in VR! Please consider it as it would make an amazing immersive travel system for VR and for players who want full realism and immersion and don’t want to fast travel but also don’t want to run everywhere, the VR community would be absolutely grateful.

    Just hoping at some point you may change your mind about porting this to console. Would be great along side the fantastic semi mod. :)

      is it likely that this will be updated one day? I haven't even started using it yet, but I really love the concept of a deer-type creature being my wasteland partner. Thanks to everyone involved in making this :D

    Well, horses aren't extinct, more like haven't appeared yet. Cats were said to be extinct, but they are doing just fine

      Was that a in game thing?

      According to the fallout accepted lore horses are extinct. The only way there could be any is if there was a farm vault (besides the plant one) that has been breeding them for 200+ years. Or possibly some hidden valley somewhere untouched by war.

      This is a link to the wiki for it:

      I thoroughly love this mod, love the idea of it in-game, and am looking forward to using it. But now I"m totally obsessed with the notion of "some hidden valley somewhere untouched by war."

      Horses or no, there's gotta be a place out there somewhere, right? ...right?

    Two complaints:
    1. The camera is nauseating, it would be great it it was stable at least in 3rd person and less shaky in 1st
    2. Very lengthy animation is gameplay breaking, because you shouldn't fight on radstag, but you can't dismount fast enough to defend yourself in an old-fashioned way if needed. I understand that animations are not yet complete, so a tweak to disable mount/dismount animation in favor of instant mounting/dismounting would be enough
    By the way, an idea: when you implement the "stay" comand you previously mentioned, you should try to add comand menu, like:
    You're ambushed by raiders, you get off your radstag and click it to move several meters away to keep it safe, just like you would comand a companion to do stuff.
    Otherwise, great work, I wish this mod will be further supported

    I see you've already made this. This seems to be perfect. The only things I would change are to keep the names consistent with the vanilla radstags and the have the player craft the stables then trap radstags the way they would other animals, but those are honestly just the most bottom of the barrel things to even consider. This is a great mod :)

    EDIT: Wait, what was that brown stuff you were shooting in the video?

      They Spit as an offensive weapon while controlled (Press Left-Click).
      (In place of our usual minigun, laser, etc player controlled weapon while riding)

      ...if the immersive-ness of this is questioned by people, they need look no further than llamas and their habit of spitting at people.
