Being the helpful and nice friend of the Drivables that they are, ShadowLiger brought these to our attention for people who'd like to have a closer camera view when riding.
Before you do anything, backup your ini. Then, for a closer 3rd person camera view when riding, add (or change if existing) this to your Fallout.ini (or Falloutcustom.ini): [camera] fVertibirdAutoVanityZoom=350.0000 fVertibirdVanityModeMaxDist=2000.0000 fVertibirdVanityModeMinDist=350.0000
Adjust those numbers to your liking (that's a good setup for the small animals, like the Radstag, but may not be great for the trucks)."
**Note that this is also linked to Vertibird flight perspective and any of our other drivables.**
***While I'll mention it on this page, we do not support ini edits, so please do this at your own risk...and, again, backup your ini before hand.***
NOTE; If you can't find them in the work shop menu: The Stable and Radstags should be in their own category in the main workshop menu, normally far to the right end. If you don't see them (icon is a keychain with a Giddy head), try traveling to the center of another settlement (doesn't have to be a vanilla settlement, but does have to be a fully functional settlement) to kickstart the menu install script.
From our testing there is no tuurning in vr on these, sadly, hence why we haven’t put them in the VR category.
Maybe someday if one of us gets a nice, shiny VR head-thingy, we can work something out...but for now, there’s no money burning a hole in my pocket for that. =(
Specifically there is no turning in 1st person mode which is the only mode avail in VR. All of our ride/drive-ables require 3rd person to be able to steer.
I like this mod a lot, but one thing I realized was that the description said that horses are extinct pre-war in the Fallout universe. This statement is false, because in the graphic novel "All Roads" written by Chris Avellone, there exist a reference of an NCR soldier riding a equine, presumably a horse. I don't know if the novel is canon or not, but judging by the appearance of Chances grave in New Vegas, I would like to imagine that horses are not exist is just not true, at least that is my headcanon.
i agree, but even if it's not cannon, why not make it into at least fan fiction and make a mod make it possible. i was thinking he could just port over skyrim horse riding everything from animations to the horses themselves into the game.
there were also modders back in the oldrim days who were able to make wisps mountable so you could ride on something that floated above ground and didn't respond to the terrane all that much, but this just makes me think you could turn robots like codsworth into a ridable robot, but his construction would have to change in how it looks and functions somewhat keep the floating animations, it would work much like riding a horse, but it would be a robot that floats.
i actually have another question, can you take assets from skyrim horse riding and port them over to fallout 4 along with the horses?
i know of another modder who ported the FO4 vault opening sequence to skyrim for his dwemer mod, and it actually worked out flawlessly.
and if you can do the same thing, then i wonder if something similar could happen and we can make all kinds of mounts even hover crafts, like a star wars speed bike, there was another modder who did the wisps so that they could be ridable and he just changed the skin of the creature into a star wars speed bike, this was back in oldrim a long time ago.

Any chance of an ESL-ified plugin? I tried compressing and flagging in FO4Edit, but it told me that it would have that CELL error attached with it.
