Those sparks are present in the base game too. You can get rid of them by replacing a texture file. Are you confident installing mods manually? If so, tell me what colours you're replacing the institute/normal lasers with, and I'll upload a replacer for you.
I made the replacer months ago, but I seem to remember it caused a colour change that you can see in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvwnTEDaX-Q See how the non-sparks version is a much lighter blue, and lacks impact sparks. I never released it since I had no fix for this. But if the colour change isn't a bother, I'll happily upload the replacer the next time I'm home from uni.
I am also interested in a mod that takes away the sparks. Will it remove the effect on all lasers or just certain colors and will I be able to have no sparks if I wanted to change the color as well?
So the reason Star wars 'laser bolts' are shorter is because the guns in star wars are actually PLasma guns so the 'laser bolts' you see are actually plasma bolts held in some sort of magnetic field to make them into bolts, unlike fallout plasma which fires in blobs.... So Star wars guns typically aren't lasers there are a few examples of actual laser guns in Star wars but most of the time your actually dealing with plasma guns...
Laser is actually an acronym, LASER->Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
Light is another spectrum of Radiation, and that is a science lesson for anyone who wants to read.
Seriously one of my favorite mods of all time for Fallout 4. No, it won't massively overhaul gameplay. No, it won't make the game easier or harder. Before this mod though, I never ever used laser weapons, because I found the effect they produce distasteful. With this mod? I've been gladly including laser weapons in my loadout, thank you so much for this mod! It's the little things :)
I equipped the clone NPCs with a modded star wars weapon (The death trooper rifle) - That's what you're hearing, it's not a replacer. A lot more SW weapon mods have been added since the video was made if you have a look around. Sorry for the late reply btw.

Sorry for bumping this but I'd like to have that replacer, the sparks are starting to annoy me
