Thank you to everyone who has endorsed, downloaded or commented positively on this. I know it means a lot to many of you to have this option.
Update: Version 3 is up for the female version. It should correct all the reported bugs and expand the edits to more dialogue as well as adding lip sync. I will start working on version 3 for the male shortly.
Compatibility: See compatibility section on the description.
I have added a compatibility patch for Unique Player, it is only required for the female version.
I have added compatibility patches for Unique Player and Followers REDUX, once again it is only required for the female version. Make sure to download the patch for the specific options you have selected in Unique Player.
For players of the male version who are using AmazingFollowerTweaks you will want to use the version 1 of the patch. You can find it in the old files section. I will update that file when I put up the next patch for the male version.
For those who are wondering how to change male character husband (as he will not be visible in character creator if using version 2 of this mod), here are some easy to follow steps.
- Design and take notes on what you want him to look like while creating your character (it's easier to see, and will save you hassle later) - Wait until Codsworth asks you to tend to young Shaun. (Nate should be sitting on couch). - Hit tilde key (looks like this '~') then click on Nate to get his ID. - Type 'showlooksmenu' then his ID (e.g. showlooksmenu 0002d37a), which should bring up character creator. - Once you are happy with him, click ok. - Save game and quit to desktop. Then relaunch game (this will make it so you can interact with Nate again after the character creation process.
I hope this helps some people out. Also, thanks Sensia for making this mod. I can't imagine playing Fallout4 without it.
Thanks for the great guide. I also highly recommend Looks Menu for it's ability to save character presets. In either version of my mod I suggest saving both your and your spouses appearance as a preset so that if something gets weird you can open the looks menu and reapply the preset. In the male version you can create a look for your spouse using the main character and save it to apply later using this method. Once you are happy with the spouses look you can create a new look for your character. Since you have it saved as a preset you can use the steps above to apply it to your spouse as soon as you leave the mirror as you don't have to see your spouse to know what they look like. Hope this helps and happy gaming.
For the two females, RP that the baby was via Artificial Insemination... As for the 2 males, 2 fathers adopting a child, still creates a strong bond even if its not blood... (My stepfather was 10x the Dad that my blood father was)
They could have had a surrogate/sperm donor lmfao... they're both his father/mother. You can fire a minature nuclear warhead but the gay couple having a baby that looks like them is where your suspension of disbelief ends????
@Barg559 Don't mess with Fallout fans, they don't even know the lore of their own franchise lmfao. The entire plot of Fallout is "What if we socially progressed but kept going with the 1950s aesthetic". Social justice issues in the Fallout universe are likely MORE progressive than they are in the modern day lmfao. If they weren't, why would you be able to have an interracial marriage? How would Nora be able to be a lawyer? Women in 1950-1960 couldn't even own credit cards, how would she be able to go to law school??? Women were rarely allowed int he workforce period, much less a white collar job. There's literally a lesbian couple in Sanctuary.
maybe he was an unwanted child spawned from drunken mishaps lmao. or a government financed project to increase birth rates. anyway, it doesnt really matter because we're for sure all just desperately looking for him to blow that institute up alongside with him, right
new vegas did it well. this one does too. Bethesda should've done this to get rid of the hassle. Or they spent too much time on hyping it up or turning bugs into features.
I just don't think it makes sense for the lore, I mean the government was couped by a fascist dictatorship, I feel like they wouldn't be too friendly towards LGBT people. In the other games it makes total sense as they all take place 100% after the war, while this one takes place both before and after. I think it's a fun little mod but it shouldn't be labeled as immersive without totally rewriting the whole "America can be just as bad as the CCP" thing they've written for the past decade
LGBT people still have always existed in places where the government tried to prevent them existing, and I don't think Fallout is "America can be as bad as the CCP", I think it's a sci-fi extension of America in the real world.
Per the lore, essentially all social issues and civil rights issues had been solved before the war. Racism wasn't a thing, neither was homophobia and honestly with the medical science that existed before the war, transphobia probably didn't exist either? Especially not in the immediate years before the war where the US government was sure concerned with making sure all Americans liked all Americans so that they would be united against China.
By this goofy logic they wouldn't allow interracial couples either... which they do. Fallout is literally just "What if society progressed but technology stayed in the 50s and we went nutty with radiation". It takes place in 2077, do you seriously think a society with robots in it would be hung up on who is f*#@ing who??? If Fallout 4 was 1950s accurate I don't even think there would be black people allowed in Sanctuary Hills.
Any possibility this could be made to be completely compatible with Dual Survivors? Currently trying to have it so my wife {nate} survives while I can still play as the female pc.
I am so sorry for you to learn this, but your partner always dies. This mod basically changes how you refer to your spouse later on, and the pictures for this mod are all in the pre-bombed house :<
While they will always die, you can use AmazingFollowerTweaks to save them, its in one of the pinned comments, make sure you don't initiate act 2/kill Kellogg until after you save them, P.S, I have no clue if it works for the AFT Plus
Hi! Sorry if this is covered somewhere I didn't see it, I just had a question about the way the mod is set up: in the female version you get Natalie and Player-Character for your spouses. In the male version, do you have Nate and Player-Character or is it Nate that you're playing, and the husband has another name?

I have done limited testing with the female version and it seems to work with only a couple glitches.
See the readme on his mod for details on how the process for reviving the spouse works.
Updated version should keep the original spouse appearance for the female version.

Kroger Still Killed Female Nate.
My current progress is to kill Kroger and return to Diamond City to find Nick.
Thank you!
