Intro
Using this modding way seem faster and easier than many other tutorial (I think that other tutorials are outdated, now 2017 ), just using Maya, 3DS MAX and Outfit Studio :). And it help avoid in game issue, distorted model, crash to desktop, seem work 99%.
Modding flow
Maya, create,import, do what ever to make your armor etc.., then reposition your armor to match base character body
=> Maya, export to FBX
=> 3DS MAX, import FBX
=> 3DS MAX, export to OBJ
=> Outfit Studio, import OBJ
=> Outfit Studio, reposition OBJ model (rotate X : 90, scale : 0.100000, move Z : -120 ), add BGSM, the important thing is paint weight.
=> Outfit Studio, export to Nif
=> using this Nif in Game.
Software use
- Maya 2016
- 3DS MAX 2012 (you can use other version, i haven't tried yet, 2018 has OBJ problem)
- Outfit Studio v4.3.1 by Ousnius and Caliente : http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25/?
- Nifskop to preview final model, this is the most important step.
Some PROBLEM i've known, if someone know more just reply, i'm so happy for that
- 1. Maya, export to FBX => Outfit Studio, import FBX : model has distorted texture. Fix : using OBJ instead of FBX. This lead to PROBLEM number 2
- 2. Maya, export to OBJ => Outfit Studio, import OBJ : sometime model has no texture. Fix : using 3DS MAX.
