Love this mod! only complaint I can give it, is that the extended borders make your settlers tend to wander far from the walls, which makes them tend to get involved and killed in random fights between atom children and gunners or super mutants and stuff that spawn at the diner and collapsed houses headed east toward vault 81. Building some turrets and a wall over there seems to help.
Pretty cool. Great work. I tried this out as a test, and it started out good, but after a bit things (existing shacks and whatnot) within the old settlement boundary in the alley started turning invisible, when I got a little ways passed old boundary. They'd reappear when I got closer and crossed into the old settlement boundary again.
Nobody else has brought this weirdness up, so could be a conflict with another mod I suppose. I loaded Hangman's Alley Extended dead last in my order when testing.
Any suggestions?

Noticed that I wasn't on the latest FO4 binary, so updated that and a handful of mods, as well as F4SE. Also got rid of Spring Cleaning and related ones that seemed redundant after reading Scrap Everything forum. Did a clean save, started fresh. The weird invisibility issues are gone. Scrap Everything does need to get loaded last. (except for bashed patch) F4Edit does show some conflicts with Beantown Interiors and HAE. Have yet to see problems in game though.

Anyone know how to make this work with MDF Hangman's Alley Clean. I'm unable to build anything near the open area near the chained door. Other than that that they work fine together.
I built on the roof of one of the buldings. Used ladders to get up to the fire escape, and then a couple more to get to the roof.
Followers would not join me though. They would come all the way up the ladders, and stop. Once I put a floor over the roof, they got up. Much easier to build after that too, put a couple green houses up there.
Also you can build into the buildings and replace the faux exteriors with real ones that have interior mesh and collision using Snappy House Deco kit. Does take a while, but nice to retake some of the wasted empty space, instead of just living in an alley.
Having an issue with this. I'm not sure if it's the mod, my load order, or some sort of incompatibility with another mod. Hopefully someone here will be able to enlighten me. Started building over the road, setting up a big factory. During this time, I was constantly assaulted by npcs, but soon noticed that they never walked down the stairs from the 'cafe' area (with the chairs and table). They'd sit on the other side of the brick railings shooting or staring at me (lots of ghoul attacks with them just staring). Then, I realized my followers were having issues getting to me. They too would not walk down the stairs. Nor would they go past the bus stop. If I examine the road in front of the bus stop (by the water) I can see a seam in the road. Not noticeable just going about my business, but if I look, I can see where the two textures meet up. Anyhow, my followers and other npcs also will not walk past that. If you tell them to, they'll just respond that they can't reach it. The only way for an npc to actually walk down to this rather large section is to go all the way down by backstreet apparel to get onto the road that goes alongside the river and then follow me to the area. And once they're in the area, there's a decent size square of area that extends to the bus stop that they just will not go past. Any idea what the issue might be?
does this play well with other mods that edit the cell? (like the one that adds the ablity to make the side buildings livable... (atm i can not think of the name of the mod sry)
It seems not to actually. The one that makes the side buildings livable edits the settlement borders horizontally and vertically to make it work. So you'd have to choose one or the other, unless you can mod it yourself and the creation kit won't explode (mine does).
Ah, yeah that one there would be a mod conflict. Most authors put details on what they changed in their mod description. Mines under “compatibility”. So you can tell what’ll work with this mod.
I was just thinking of that same issue, The mod in question is Hangman's Alley Interior Apartments http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16457/? and which one loads last overwrites the other, compatibility patch would be nice
Obviously I can't do more than request it politely, no pressure and it's totally cool if you don't, but please, consider making a patch for Hangman's Alley Interior Apartments . It's probably the most popular Hangma'ns mod and there will be many people like myself that would use both if given the chance.
You can do it yourself for SOME of the buildings by using the Place Everywhere mod. With the mod installed, in build mode, press the INS key and some of the building become scrappable.
Then you can use the Snappy Housekit mod to build new ones.
Be careful and SAVE often, it's easy to screw up a couple of hours worth of work in one click.
One of the issues is the existing buildings are single sided--they are transparent on the inside, and the terrain is incomplete underneath.
Love the idea, fully plan to get things once the All-In-One happens... ESP list space is a high-priced commodity, and I wouldn't have room for all of these at this point, individually.
I had already built up all the settlements released so far, and havent had any issues at all. Everything is how it was, I just now have all this extra space to play with!
