Many users were curious what ENB I've been using in these images/videos. I have some good news! It's out now. It's a very high-tech preset with an acceptable performance hit, designed to invoke some of the best elements of classics like "Grim and Somber" and "Pure Light ENB" from Skyrim.
Hey there! I'm interested in this mod but noticed it's a replacer. Any way to get a version where the vanilla nukes and bullet bills live together? Perhaps give the ammo a paintjob? (not a modder, don't know if possible!) Or maybe just be able to construct yours with a percentage of finding them in the wild? Thanks ever so much! I love this idea but don't want to lose vanilla nukes entirely.
Haha! You'd think so, but... sadly no. As Fallout games take place in a retro-futuristic world before "modern" technology.
In Fallout's lore, WWII ended, and progress was made to get where we are today, except for 3 things: 1) no sexual revolution of the late 60's, 2) no Kennedy assassination or Civil Rights movement, 3) technology didn't progress much beyond the transistor.
So basically the late 50's and early 60's lasted forever. Until humanity blew itself up.
Part of what makes Fallout's world so charming is that, somehow, we made all this social progress without any of those turbulent events coming to pass. And when WW3 finally happened, it boiled over and we nuked each other alive. Trade off I suppose. Anyway, that was random and only sort-of related to your point.
So in a nutshell, super nintendo probably wouldn't have existed because video games wouldn't have been invented the way we remember them. But it is a nice thought! The fun thing about modding is you can create any world you want out of it all. :)
You made my day with this mod! xD If you could make an alternative version where the Fatman is colored in a nice Nuka Cola or Super Mario red, I'll download it asap. xD The black Fatman is still too serious. I LOVE the mini nukes though. ^^ Great idea.
Even better actually. I'm finalizing a mod with beans new (vanilla enhanced, recolored, upscaled) rust red, grey, and gunmetal blue for a semi "patriotic" retexture. So the nuke will be black and the fat man will be basically a faded US flag in gun form.
