Your "subtle" series has been amazing so far! I'm very picky when it comes to mods like these and this is the only one that nailed it for me. I can't wait to see your Piper version!
That's pretty much how I feel, there's lots of great overhauls out there, but there's always some minor(or major) thing keeping it from being how I envision the character, that, or they completely change the face. (I'm thinking a lot of those face replacers port their own PC presets into NPCs instead of editing the NPC directly.)
I always felt that Mama Murphy was something of a mutant, someone more adapted to the Wasteland. The character can end up with Ghoulish ("Sure, you're human... on the outside!") and has very little excuse for it since the sucker is more Prewar than the Ghouls, so why not? It also explains her getting the Sight... A bit of ghoulish droop when she hits old age only makes sense to me.
For those that disagree, there is this mod. And that is good.
Yep, I agree, in fact, she is almost definitely a mutant, since most Psykers in Fallout lore are a result of FEV.(And radiation as well.)
In fact, plenty of concept art, lore, and dialogue suggest Mama Murphy should actually be much older and even more weathered. "I'm much older than you think, kid." The terminal where Jared the raider talks about seeing her in her youth, and already describes her as being an old lady then her original concept art(Both the black and white variant) looked to be about 90+ years old Her first line I heard her say to herself was talking about having "Jet with a Psycho chaser".
Essentially, my image for Mama Murphy would be older, more ghoulish, more drug worn. I personally think Mama Murphy may be inhumanly old, due to her mutations.(Not sure if FEV of rads, but either way.)
Definitely not, lol. The other one changes her to be much older, it's kind of the opposite goal here. I mean, I guess I could just make a black/younger Mama Murphy, but that defeats the point of the other mod, which was to look like the concept art.
