Would be very nice to have some kind of a part 2 where we would get to know who the heck got into one's pip-boy. Btw I really like your voice as Hoondoon, only I find the name choice kinda odd, but that's the wasteland I guess. As for the shocks, I kinda like the idead that one is forced to do the quest.
Gotta tell you. The 1st time it shocked me to force me to do the quest, I uninstalled it. Might have been a very fun mod to play. The quests might have been the coolest thing ever. But doing quests as an option is my preference. When to do them is something I like to choose.
Kind of the whole reason I like games like Fo4. Free roam and freedom to choose when and if I want to do a quest. Your mod eliminated that choice.
I appreciate every modder who spends their time to add things to the game that make it more interesting. I just wanted to give you an idea of how being forced to do your quest when you chose for me to do so made me feel about your mod. Maybe I'll see another of your mods down the road that is optional and I'll try it out.
Cool quest but I have to ask. It seems like it could be an interesting "Random Encounter" radiant quest. How hard would it be to somehow set this thing up to be a quest that can pop up anywhere and send you to random locations to find these things for whoever wants it? It seems very interesting and think it should have a bit more involvement.
Cool quest, fun characters & dialogue, albeit slightly annoying with being electrified whilst looking for Whiskey that is apparently almost non-existent in the Commonwealth.
Just had a question about Hoondoon: is she aquirable as a companion after the quest? Based on some of the comments below I assumed that to be the case, but after going back to her she says nothing but "Party time!"
I'm late to the party because I just re-installed the game after about six months off.
Your mod seems to bring something that I feel has been sorely lacking for this game; Interesting little quests and things to do that aren't necessarily about clearing out a small area of enemies. I have nothing against that, but it's nice to spice things up with some variety.
I really appreciate you sharing this, and hope that there might be more to come either in taking this specific mod beyond its original scope, creating a new companion, or anything else that can add flavor to combat some of the samey blandness about a lot of the game. By the way, the voice holds up perfectly well.
thanks, glad you enjoyed it! i was looking for a reason to write a quirky character with quest-level interaction; i think FO4 has a lot of fun side characters (e.g. most of the merchants have unique personalities) but you don't get a ton of chances to interact with them.
it is a pretty light quest, and i'd love to revisit it. i've outlined a quest chain off of this one that would explain just who hacked your Pip-Boy and what The Information is for, but i think i'd need to enlist some others (particularly voice talent) to pull it off. if there's one thing this quest taught me, it's that it takes a lot of work to produce anything approaching professional-quality production! i think i have the experience to project manage and develop something larger... assuming life gives me the time!
thank you again - it's always encouraging to hear feedback on these initial efforts!
Love Hoondoon! She makes for a great follower after finishing the quest too! She'll have a blast at club fusion. would love to have more dialogue for her too! 'Party time!'
thanks! i do hope to record more for her and the other NPCs. they're pretty minimal as far as lines go, and just have the dialogue for their scenes; they lack flavor lines and combat barks.
life is kinda crazy right now, but i hope to make another revision to this mod soon. i did have one XB1 user report the shock effect remaining after finishing the quest, too, so i might tweak the scripts to be more thorough.
I watched AlChestBreach playing your mod, and honestly I don't remember ever laughing outloud at some dialogues from a mod. Your character Hoondoon spoken lines are so great. If you do more quests mods at some later points, I hope this character will appear again with your own voice, it was so funny! I'll personally play and endorse your mod later when I'll have time to play it c: "Come talk to me if you find it! Bop-Bop!"
great to hear, thanks! the origin of Hoondoon was an interactive scene i wrote specifically to create a quirky, light-hearted character, so i'm really glad to hear that came across. especially through my, erm, non-female voice acting!
i'm not sure if i'll create another quest with Hoondoon (so many other ideas), but i would like to at least fill out her dialogue & flavor lines more, and that of the other NPCs. obviously, an actual female voice actress would be nice. it would also be great to go back and re-create the whole interactive story, which has a different setting and somewhat different characters.
behind-the-scenes: Hoondoon is a composite of hyper-energetic party girls i've met at clubs and raves, and her name is an adaptation of the Chinese word for "chaos".

Second, I can't find the info in H.C. Found the party itself but the quest marker points to a stack of file boxes with no interactability.
